  • Beautiful ! Both playing and singing - thoroughly enjoyed it!

  • Bravo! sounds well. I like it.

  • Hi Brother John...is so neat I am "attempting" to play my strumstick along with you on this song and the autoharp and standard FCF strumstick seem to sound good together...thank you thank you.

  • I've just been given an old auto harp - needs some repair where strings attach to bottom but I would love to learn to play as good as you. I learned to play the piano so I hope it won't be too hard with some practice. thank you.

  • Beautifully done. Thanks for sharing.

  • Haha- how funny!! I have an autoharp and LOVE to play this song. She taught me to love some good ones too:-)

  • Tell me how can you find the notes on such narrow positionned strings, and how you don't mix them up playing fast.

  • @Abina34 it is a auto harp the strings you dont need are muted with a felt pad

  • I love this. I am just learning to play the autoharp. Thanks for your music.

  • Did you and a young lady play at my son's wedding in Wisconsin? I beleive the song was "All bound for Teri's Wedding" If so it was charming.

  • No, it wasn't me...

  • Beautiful ! Thanks !

  • that was good, i inherited an autoharp, I want to learn to play. any suggestions anyone. thanks B

  • I'd recommend doing a search for CyberPluckers and joining the list. That group has helped me so much in learning how to play the autoharp and keeping on track with learning.

  • I think he is playing great, maybe YOU should stick to a pattern of learning.

  • He (orbit15) asked for suggestions on learning his inherited autoharp. Maybe YOU should learn to read. :P

  • Guess I walked into that one, my apologies

  • It's okay. :)

  • where are you located. I can hook you up with other players most anywhere. Get back to me. What kind of 'harp do you have?

  • I am about an hour south of Mpls/St. Paul, and now after watching this video again, my instrument is different. The book calls it a Hawaiian Tremoloa. The book also says it was sold to my family thru Manufacturers Advertising Company at 93 Ferry Street in Jersey City NJ. No dates to be found among all the sheet music, I wonder how old this darn thing is. Thanks for the post songsinger.

  • I found the following on the internet....

The patent for the Tremoloa was granted in 1932 to Harold Finney, a principal in the International Musical corp. at the time, and John H. Large, an inventor. The Tremoloa patent was applied for in 1929. It can be assumed that the Tremoloa wasn't available before about 1929.

  • Thank you lewdite, I appreciate your search very much and also your information. My mother was born in 1926, so i am intrigued now with how my grandparents came upon the cash to buy this thing, with a large family and the dirty 30's and depression coming on. Thanks again for the info. B

  • i'm a freak of u.:)It's beautiful..:)

  • What a beautiful instrument and so beautifully played.

  • It made me cry. Beautiful.

  • Nice! That made me feel good:)
