  • @tkyaheya Thank you for kind comment. Sorry, I don't have the version of Pat and Shirley Boone.

  • Nothing special.Pat Boone with Shirley sang this hit much more better. Also

sang it Patsy Cline. From Mitch Miller little like Quai March but our orch. by Karel Vlach played it also much more better. This production little remind legendarry Ray Coniff.

  • finally, found the actuall version.

  • i herd this song on rocky and bullwinkle

  • His choir sang about a world that had passed away....and now his world has passed

  • Love this sing-a-long Mitch Miller rendition, even though if it was written about major household appliances, refrigerators and washer and dryers.

  • Originally featured on Mitch's 1961 'Sing Along' album, "Happy Times!" {CS 8568}, with a memorable arrangement by Jimmy Carroll...

  • Remember the bouncing ball anybody?

  • @HoboGus

In an interview with Mitch Miller he has said that the bouncing ball was actually a myth and that he only used lyrics which were filled in with color, so that people could follow along with the tempo of the music as they sang or followed along.

  • @JackPlatt - well maybe he denied it but SOMEBODY would say "Follow the bouncing ball" and we allll would sing. Now I do remember that every once in awhile Lawrence Welk would have a sing-a-long - maybe he was the bouncing ball guy... I just know that it is a memory of my childhood.

  • HIs recordings with his 'gang' helped me through college. He gave a young Leslie Uggams and others artists opportunity. God bless his memory, and his family

  • May you rest in peace, Mr. Miller. Hearing of your passing has brought a lot of memories watching and waiting to follow the ball. Thank you for all the great memories. You deserved a long, happy life, and God gave you that gift.

  • RIP, Mitch. You were a part of my childhood soundtrack.

  • I love this song, and I love Mitch Miller... his music makes me feel jovial...

    thanks meehall...
