got a red ear slider about half a year ago with my girl, as i further looked into the cost in taking care of them my jaw dropped! i got a lot of financial stress to come, heck i am a part time college student who has no money, mine is about 2 inches in a 30 x 12 x 17, i got my tax return on the way so im gonna go ahead and use that to get a 48 x 18 x 17 so i dont need to worry about it in the furture

@bkermike Well, this turtle is in a tank 4 times too small for him... As long as you have him in a big enough tank with the right stuff hes fine. This tank is extremely dull, way too small, and not enough water. Throw a nice filter, plants, rocks, a background, nice lights, and a huge (125+ gallon) tank, and the turtle will be happy lol
My turtle is so awesome, he mostly swims around a bit and sits on his rock but he always drops everything and goes crazy when he sees me. I know people say turtles can't have affectionate feelings, but I am certain he does. It's not just when I feed him; I feed him at the same three times every day and he should have figured out the pattern by now, he always goes crazy for me.

LOL the shredder.... my sis's bf was gonna name his turtle anything from the ninja turtles then we found out...... it was a girl......... So we named her April Turquoise Apricot.... funny, i know... ATA for short :P
