If you cant find it right click blank space in the folder and click show hidden files. After finding hosts move into into the recycle bin and delete it. Create a blank text file called hosts and hidden it ( right click prosperity.) thumbs up

For all of with this whole #Copyright (c) thing, don't delete everything, just delete everything thats under "# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol." Like just all the adresses, not the entire paragraph thingymagig. And then save. That worked for me.

Guys here is the removal for the redirect virus. You need to check your Host file and lmHost file. You will see THOUSANDS of domain entries in their. Next open the registry and go to these 2 hives. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE & HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Mic­rosoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\­Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains delete everything except microsoft. Also go to the Key P3P 2 folders up and delete the history. You will see THOUSANDS of entries! If you can replace the entire KEY on both Hives!!!

1. drag ur hosts file to desktop

2. open hosts files with notepad and delete all those nasty fuckers

3. save the file.

4. drag that hosts file at desktop (the one u modify) and replace the hosts file in etc folder.

5. click this comment so people can see!

Just a note. A lot of redirect issues won't be resolved by clearing the HOSTS file and removing viral traces. Many redirects are done by a virus changing your router's DNS settings from automatic to manual. Make sure to check that as well.
