One point in Giuliani's defense, I was 5 blocks from WTC on 9/11 and nearly everyone I ran into on the streets thought "more buildings would come down". We thought this would be caused by more attacks. We had no insight to structural damage. Were there any engineers or architects working the WTC site that day? If so, have they been interviewed?
@pete82345 It was a rumor spread throughout the city and across the news that was not true, but was used to keep people away from the scene. Giuliani the whole time was moving thousands of tons of WTC 7 steel, not looking for survivors. They let some rescuers around the surrounding area, but rescuers were not allowed free reign over the site. Tuesday WTC 7 kept them out, Wednesday it was unsafe buildings, Thursday it rained, Friday they said no more volunteers allowed.
And who is feeding this information to Guilliani?
The information trail is still unknown. We know that Fire Chief Nigro never told Silverstein that they were going to "pull" building 7. And yet, the media, and the mayor, were being fed this information from somewhere.... we still don't know where this information was coming from.
