For a while now i've been noticing the number 222 everywhere. But what you said is even stranger. Last night I was talking about guitar with a buddy, and i was tabbing out a riff so the first chord was 232 on the strings. Move along to today just 3hrs ago, I was cleaning a fridge and saw a box on it that said 52-232 and i was like. no way that's a familiar number today . so i'm on my guitar and played the 5th then 2nd then played a d and it actually sounds ok!~

people say that you have to be able to play alot with your pinky to be a great guitarist and john 5 proves everyone who says that, wrong. i most i have seen is he sticks with his first 3 fingers and still sounds great.

he plays in a really bluegrass style, which is without the pinky, and thumb over the neck. Generally looked down on in contemporary shred, but you're right, he still kicks serious ass!

this guy is original, creative, awesome, and cool sounding, but highly overrated in terms of technicality. it sounds hard to play, but it isn't unless you haven't gotten used to alternate picking across strings. great player, but not that technical.

ironic you would say that becase buckethead can play just like this guy. all he would need to do is tune his guitar lower. sure john is original, but buckethead can play pretty much any guitar genre ever invented. still, he wouldn't be able to "completely" imitate john, but it would be close enough to say it sounds like him. check out hog bitch stomp by buckethead :)
