The great Hound Dog Taylor story I heard was when he was sitting in with The Bob Reidy Blues Band. They were a local white band that backed up a lot of the blues players around Chicago.. Hound dog plugged into the guitar player's Twin Reverb and hit a few licks whils one warming up. He then told his "valet" to go get his amp from the car 'cause "this one don't bite". The valet returned with a Twin that had shredded speaker cones. He was then able to get "his" sound...

Just thought I'd point out that when we went in to the studios to record Hound Dog (you sure didn't produce him) that he didn't have any names for any of his instrumentals. Bruce Iglauer & myself just came up with the names like "Taylor's Rock" Hound Dog sure slipped one in on us cause his "55th Street Boogie" was actually the old jazz standard "Jumpin' With Symphony Sid"
