  • Awesome recap of 2011 guys. Love what ya'll are doing! I think my favorite moment was the repeal of DADT. Now we just need to throw DOMA in the trash pile with it.

  • There's alot of people who depfox have helped (all of them), but they just don't know it yet. Maybe they'll find out in a year or so, when people get in contact with them and say "You helped me through a really tough time" or something like that etc. I think thats why i have so much respect for the whole family, i don't think any of us have any idea how much good these video's are doing in the world these days.

  • these videos are wonderful

  • The fight must go on until we achieve full equality. 2012 going to be an interesting one also

  • This is a great video. May 2012 be an even bigger year for LGBT equality.

  • Just to let you know, If you need any graphic work or editing done with ANYTHING, let me know. I have experience in editing and would love to help.

  • You have helped more people than you know...including me. It made me smile that you still use my intro and out-tro... Wonderful video Jay and Bryan

  • The speech that Zach Wahls gave is one of my favorite LGBT victories for 2011.

  • My the best news in 2011 is new york allows Same-Sex Marriage

  • Here's a couple LGBT victories that went into effect today for 2012

A California law will add gays and lesbians and people with disabilities to the list of social and ethnic groups whose contributions must be taught in history lessons in public schools. The law also bans teaching materials that reflect poorly on gays or particular religions.

In Hawaii and Delaware, same-sex couples will be eligible for civil unions that provide the same legal rights that married couples receive.

  • I think I cry mor often than not while watching your videos. Not because I am sad but because you warm my heart each time. I may live in a country that years ago grants by law equality to the LGBT community and marriage back in 2003/4 but the struggles don't end because a legislator oficially gives you the rights that were yours all along. The hearts and minds of the bigots take a long time to change. I still haven't told my parents and I am 43. Hugz

    Steve

  • you spelled speach ==

  • I'm very glad I found your youtube videos this year. I love to watch happy families.

  • LETS HOPE FOR 2012, CALIFORNIA WILL ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE. BEING A SENIOR IN AN ALL BOY CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION IS TO COME OUT TO MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND MY CLASSMATES AND HOPE THEY WILL ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM. LETS ALSO HOPE THAT ONE DAY, I WILL BE ABLE TO MARRY THE MAN I LOVE IN CALIFORNIA LIKE YOU TWO.

  • my husband and I can't wait for worldwide marriage, and we are very happy that your family decided to post these wonderful videos

  • It's been a good year, and I'm sure we will see great things to come in 2012 too! 2011 saw me finally become comfortable with who I am, I think 2012 will see me become comfortable with letting the world know who I am and being able to be myself as an out gay man. It seems like things really do just get better with time whether that's on a personal level or on a much larger political level. Here's to the incredible progress we have all made. And here's to the future, and all it will bring us :)

  • my favorit part of this year is LADY GAGA!!!! putting out a song about equlity on the mainstream radio was genius! she opened so many eyes and inspered so many people! finally an artist that makes a change in this world, she is so brave and do things that the other artists are to afraid of! she is pushing the boundaries of society and teaches us that its okey to be diffrent!! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!

  • Tis is so powerful I really ha to pause it for a minute...

Thanks again I just told my brother an sister today

They say they live me for who I am!

  • Awesome video, Jay and Bryan! Thank you for all that you do to make life better for me and everyone in the LGBT community. Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family. May all your hopes and dreams come true in 2012. :) Jim

  • I still can't believe Gays can get Married in NY....so happy about that..

Hillary Clinton Speech still gives me goosebumps...she simply deliver the best speech she ever made!!

  • All of them are my favorites.

    - Heidi

  • anti gay is anti human. fuck the cowardly know nothings that say otherwise

  • A time of change that is long over due. Now comes the work.

  • New York achieving marriage equality was by far the most exciting for me. It was the perfect addition to an excellent Gay Pride weekend in Chicago!

  • The clip of Dylan at the end was absolutely heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. So glad he found you guys and saved himself years of psychological torture. Keep doing what you're doing guys! New subscriber here :)

  • @arwar Yes Dylan was the most important part of what my family did this year he was a perfect example of all the young LGBT people we have talked with this year...there are so many that where two scared to make videos but their letters and thank yous are just as powerful to both me and Bryan....I hope for every Jamie there is a 10000000 Dylans to come.

  • Great Video Jay and Bryan! This is a big reminder of the accomplishments we had this past year, and how much hope we have going into the future. People tend to forget the accomplishments and you gave us that reminder. Even though there is many accomplishments, we have still big steps we need to go. Thank you for this reminder!

  • This was wonderful you guys. Thank you for doing this to help us all remember that there ARE advances to help us just live normal lives. I get so worried for this election year with all of that negative and frightening talk that I hear from politicians. You have helped so many people...you both should be so proud! Happy New Year to you and your lovely family.

  • In 2011 i'm come out with my mum and my very close friends! So those are my favorites moments! :) Now I feel better!

Thank you Depfox, you inspired me!! :)

  • favorite victory in 2011 ????? zero for me

  • im coming out to my parents on new years =} so exciting / nervous...Happiness im coming your way!!

  • My favorite LGBT victory of 2010 is definitely the implementation of the DADT repeal. I am currently joining the Marines now and gonna go into boot camp summer next year! I'm soooo excited! :D

  • Thanks for this. Just got home from a 3 - midnight shift and had this to make me smile. :)

  • There are so many amazing victories we experienced in 2011... I think while the civil unions were a good step forward, they are a blatant way of keeping us 2nd class citizens. It reminds me of an article I read explaining how Delaware legalized civil unions, where it uses the wording "clarifying that marriage is between a man and a woman." as if we were simply mistaken and confused.

Legalized gay marriage is a much greater victory, as was the tearing down of DADT.

  • @NicholasKreuz So true and for that reason in the UK I don't agree with the substitute my government has given LGBT with civil partnerships.

  • @NicholasKreuz I agree. Civil Unions remind me of " Separate but equal " .

  • @tjport1980 they are "Separate and they are not even equal" that being said when you have a sick husband wife or child you are happy to have them...They are not marriage and that is the end goal but I am glad these people have some protections.

  • Thank you for another great video!!!! Phillips and Dylan are amazing!!!

  • IIII looooooooooooooooooveeee it!!!!!!!!

  • I'm not even gay but the video of the soldier made me cry

  • I love this video

  • Id I had to pick any one of these I would say DADT. But all that said. We have SO MUCH MORE work to do.

  • Been a big year for me - a 13 year old from England. I've come out to 6 people who all accept me for who I am :)

  • @EpicZombiePanda I cant even imagine coming out at 13 your amazing to be so strong

  • @EpicZombiePanda Brilliant! So brave. Happy 2012!!!

  • It's definitely heeb

  • 2011 was indeed a big year for us, and I finally gathered up the courage to come out to my parents in October. Thanks for being integral to this fight, Depfox :)

  • Though I might be a little biased with the SF Giants IGB video breakthrough, I think that the fall of DADT is a huge watershed moment in our movement.

  • In Australia They remove a 7 year old Law. That blocked us gays from getting married overseas

By refusing to grant a CNI (Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage) to Gays.

And we won a Conscience Vote on gay Marriage

  • I hope one day to be half the person each of you is, and to have a family half as beautiful.

  • this is so good. i'll bet the 2012 would be like a huge battle for sure.

  • 2011 was a good year for the LGBT rights movement. While not perfect it had a good step forward. For myself it has been a major year to. To long to explain here so mabe this should be an excuse for a video :)

  • God bless you guys!

  • hi im from Brazil and a lot of progress has been made hear too :), now we are able to have civil unions nationwide and just about to have same-sex marriages. We are also fighting to create laws against discrimination nationwide... anyways, i want to say that im so proud of my american brothers and that i wish u a happy new year

  • A few moderate American victories, yes. But in most of the world, being gay is still either mildly taboo or worthy of death. And forcing gay rights on people through war or occupation is immoral. So the best we can do is get our own house in order, so that the light of our liberty can be seen throughout the world. Not an easy task, and we still have a long way to go.

  • Discovering you guys was my LGBT victory.

  • my favorite LGBT victory would have to be same-sex narriage legalized in my favrite state in the whole country: NEW YORK!!!!

  • I was sat in the car waiting for my boyfriend 2 days ago. We can't be seen together as i'm still in the closet. While waiting, two masculine looking men were holding hands, something i have always envied from gay couples, but that wasnt the victory; two men, around 21, were walking behind and then realised they were holding hands, they shared a look, i prepared myself for the worst..but they smiled & suddenly held hands too, even kissed eachother on the cheek. I came out the next day, inspired.

  • We have made some amazing strides this year and I can't wait to see how much more progress we make in 2012. Lovely video. Happy New Year.

    Hugs

  • I cried when DADT was repealed. I'm not military, just human.

  • Accepting myself a bit more. It's been a journey. In large measure videos like yours and many others have helped a great deal. Thank you for being brave enough to share your story. You are an inspiration. God bless.

  • great recap guys! dillons vid is tough to watch, shouldnt all kids know by now being gay doesnt go away? trust us older gays, know for sure! please thumbs up.

  • Awesome!!!

  • Came fully out this year and no one minds. I'm still the same old Grace to them, they just know a little more about me. Bring on 2012 :)

  • @lightandbeautiful ah yes, human beings wanting the same rights as other human beings. Some agenda. I wish those who oppose equal rights for everyone would come out of the closet and admit that they are what they are, bigots. If they're ashamed to wear that label, don't take part in bigoted behavior.

  • @mdstudio So true. Whenever I hear someone say "the homosexual agenda" I wonder if they ever said "the women's agenda" or "the black agenda" or , well, you get the idea. Minorities shouldn't have to fight for equality, we should just have it naturally. We gays are the last minority that the "majority" can hate openly. Who will take our place?

  • It's really been an incredible year. We've come far but still have far to go to reach full equality. Things may be tough but events like these make it a lot easier to have hope.

  • Homosexual activists understand the power of words.

Please visit my channel to watch a one-minute video clip in which famous atheist Richard Dawkins admits that homosexual activists "hijacked the word 'gay'".

The word "homosexual" is more appropriate and accurate because it, unlike the word "gay", actually describes the behavior/attraction/relationship being discussed.

The word "gay" helps homosexual activists push their agenda.

  • @lightandbeautiful, Please enlighten me on this, since you seem to be the expert. First of all, I would like to know what our "agenda" is. And what does Richard Dawkins have to do with this? He is simply a very famous atheist. What is wrong with that? I admire the man. Gay people (who were born this way, by the way) simply want to be treated equally. No agenda there. If you are not gay yourself, why should this video even be of interest to you? What is YOUR agenda?

  • Well done guys!!!

  • 2011 has been a monumental year for me...i've come to terms with my gender identity, and found someone who loves me for who i am.

  • Great video!

  • Another great video guys. This wasn't the first time you've made my eye's well up and thank you for each and every time. Much love to you and your family. Keep on doing what you're doing. We all need to keep speaking out loudly and proudly. There is no shame in being a member of the LGBTQIA community. Love knows no gender! Hugs

  • Many steps taken to the top of that equality mountain!

  • While I came out over 2 years ago, I still feel myself and the people around me becoming more and more comfortable with who we are. I'm in my second year of college, and I truly feel like I'm living through history.

  • @AverageKid100 It will happen! First, let's get rid of the back assed governor and legislators currently in office. I KNEW eventually they would get to the gay rights agenda after all the union busting and other rights stripped. And, unfortunately, I wasn't wrong. The signing of the bill to take away benefits for any domestic partners was their backdoor way of taking away those benefits from gay couples.

  • its so strange to me that theres all this controversy in america about same sex marriage and civil unions as where i live in NZ the same sex civil unions have the exact same rights as heterosexual marriage (don't know why they don't just call it the same name) and everywhere in NZ is the same and we have had no problems with it i mean seriously how does it affect anyone else? people love who they love thats that. i really don't get why some people are so against it! love not hate.x

  • we should all be very proud :) another step forward...

  • My favorite moment would definitely be the legalization of gay marriage in NY. Not that I plan on getting married anytime soon lol, but just being able to feels so great! :D

  • I am so very glad I found the two of you via AGayCollab!! THANK YOU for sharing part of your life with me!

  • legalize marriage worldwide!!! love u Depfox!

  • 2011 was a big year for me because I was able to become so much more accepting of myself. I found the strenght to start talking about being gay through my youtube channel, and I even finally found the strenght to come out to a friend. Cant wait to see what 2012 has to offer!

  • @funghoul182 I see falling in love :O)

  • @funghoul182 I'm with you on that. 2011 was a great year and a bad year for me. It was great because I finally got tired of living a lie for 22 years and a week before my 23 birthday, I came out to my parents and all my friends. But, a drawback from being in the closet for 22 years, is that I fell into a really bad depression this year and hit rock bottom in a big way. But my new-found strength helped pull me through. Thanks to people like Jay and Bryan who in many ways helped me.

  • NEW YORK GAY MARRIAGE LEGAL. My fav moment.

  • @SrBryanoCB It made me cry again! :-)

  • wish i had some rights in my country....happyfor all those that can love openly and not be hated for something that is pure...LOVE!

  • Don't ask don't tell finally getting repelled. The guy at the end was so sweet. Y'all have changed so many lives for the better <3

  • don't ask don't tell

  • my favorite LGBT moment of 2011 is that my mommy's have now been together over 30 years

  • ZOMG i cant believe its been 6 months that equality was pased here in ny

  • Love you depfox <3
