Except he lives to fight and hence to KILL. He's not the ultimate neutral character, he's on the "darker side". By SC standards he is neutral, but he's not an ultimate neutral.

In the earlier games he was portrayed as honorable, but they dropped that(SE Mitsu wouldn't hurt a woman, SCIV Mitsu has actually killed one- Miser).

He isnt evil he is neutral, hes been that way since 1, all he cares for is to find a strong opponent. In 3 the reason he is looking for the sword is because of the rumors that were tied with it (if memory serves) He wants to find a strong opponent to fight that is all. Like in 4 when he beats Algol, he tell Mitsurugi to take he power and Mitsurugi denies it, he says something along the lines of true power comes from within you.

I guess, but in this one especially he is displayed as mad with power, usually not a good thing. And since he is searching for the most powerful sword in existence just so he can become stronger, I think he can be classed as neutral, but more bad than good. Good enough?

Mitsurugi is the neutral character, in my opinion. He may help innocent people, but he seeks power. The evil part of him comes from the fact that he "allegedly" killed Setsuka's master.

Taki may be loyal to herself (she's not gonna help everybody), but she seeks to destroy ultimate power. She's even against Soul Calibur's ultimate power. Hence SCIV's ending.

Even that is not evil. He looked for warriors that were said to be the strongest in those lands. It was a quest to strengthen himself, not to purposely kill. He is in that respects neutral because he does not care for the power of Soul Edge or Soul Calibur. And he did kill her master.

misturugi is not bad at all, he wants soul edge because the sword atracts a lot of strong fighters and misturugi wants a good challenge, so having the soul edge is the perfect way to get that challenge, he always "ends" with soul calibur because he is not bad at all.

Ok, Setsuka was adopted by a Japanese man. Mitsurugi did not kill him but defeated him. She sought revenge after he died, but not necessarily by Mitsurugi's hand. However, he did play a big part.

As for Taki, everytime Mitsurugi tried to track down either Nightmare or Soul Edge she kept interfearing.

This ending is sweet if you view it in Event Viewer, and select Soul Edge as a weapon, then when he fights Taki, he will be wielding two Soul Edges.
