I think Ed is right to call out the underlying hypocrisy of the restoring honor rally. However, I don't think this hypocrisy is exclusive to the tea party. i think that claiming equality and civil discourse while harboring prejudices and giving way to name calling is endemic in American dialog. Let's look to our own behavior even as we try to mitigate the harmful impact of others'.

It wasn't until Stewart's rally that the Beck team heavily inflated their stats, because that's what it's all about, right? NUMBERS. Just like any church, religion, they rely mostly on numbers, not the truth. Facts are not debatable. But if you have numbers, facts don't really matter.

Could not afford the trip from California, but I wanted to go. There would have been a LOT more than 600,000 people there if we could afford it.

I can think of quite a few "public servants" who deserve to be "targeted" like this, and then some. Besides, they all have our home addresses, hell, the government knows more about most of us than our own families. So why not level the playing field? I bet if the home addresses of Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, Alan Grayson, and Tim DeMint were all published, these media mongrels wouldn't be complaining at all. I have been to Washington D.C. I stayed a the Washington hilton. I walked just to the opposite side of the block to a store I seen from my hotel window with my son. We were confronted by a gang and I thought I was going to have to fight to protect my son. God protected us.
