My partner and I attended two dances in Williamsport April of 09. No wonder they were awed. You're only as good as your instuctors. Yes I would love to go back there and teach. Here in Las Vegas everyone was born knowing how to dance. I had to take 500 lessons
Thanks for this series - all the other series on Youtube are either just the steps explained in thirty seconds with no music or ridiculous experts showing off. This is the only thing I've found with just plain ol' swing dancing, no tricks. Gives me hope that I can learn. :)
Gary and Bonnie, Thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful mini lessons. There are tons of videos of swing/jitterbug on the net but most of competition/exhibition and do not show the beginner HOW to dance. Your videos are GREAT. You make it simple and clear. Thanks again.
hmm. we used moves similiar to these when my highschool performed "The Wizard of Oz" (the stage performance) and when we did the single "The Jitterbug"
easy and nice moves to add to my (little) but growing repetoir thanks a bunch.... great instruction

This dance is silly and corny. If you really want to learn swing that is easy and
fun, learn ceroc, also known as modern jive (no not ballroom jive). Ceroc or
Modern Jive is very popular in the UK, Australia and New Zeland. For some
reason, it never caught on in the US. See danceyourselfdizzy(dot)com

This is called the tuck-in break. But they dance poorly.

Fine lesson.
What is the song used during the lesson, please?

I was taught that this was the "Windmill"

That's not what I learned as the Sugar Push either, but guess names change a lot depending on where you learn.
When you count out the steps as you do them, it helps immensely.
Also, I just wanted to say thank you. These videos are easy to follow and definitely will help me pick up a couple more moves.
