  • I think you might like my story. I met a homeless juggler who told me he got the directions on Youtube. When I first learned to juggle in 1977, we made our own clubs, much like these from directions in Carlo's Juggling Book. Eventually we got professional clubs, & I forgot all about DIY clubs. I've met so many ball jugglers without the resources to buy clubs and it never occurred to me to tell them to make their own. Now 34 years later, it seems DIY clubs are the green version and cool to own.

  • Thumbs up bc the icon for this video was a razor blade. That made me smile.

  • Rawww!!

  • Awesome!! But how do they feel? Heavy? Ligth? Cheap?

  • nice unicycle in the backrond torker right

  • thanks 4 the tip

  • i think i can buy a club cheaper than all of these supplies you need

  • @slushyfactory Hello

Maybe some half size plastic molded ones, but these clubs feel nicely balanced and there full size!

It doesnt cost much, just use what you can find :=)

  • I like how he's doing all of this, including the power tool and hammer stuff in the middle of a bedroom.

  • Thats sweet, im going to make them

  • thank you, i'm going to make them :)

  • @litas555

    Great!

Post a video of them once you have made them

    Have fun!!

  • okay, I don't even have 1/4 of these things laying around. Where can I get real juggling props besides balls (which i already have)? I don't have a wal-mart where I live.

  • @GoodGooglyGumdrops thewjf(dot)com or jugglingsuperstore(dot)com :)

  • creepy

  • i made some my own way but with the same concept

  • Ghetto....

  • wouldnt the balance of the clubs be all weird? like the weight would be mostly in the handle wouldnt it?

  • @PikoParty well juggling knifes have alot of the weight in the handle

  • @TheUnityProductions they also are a bit weirder to juggle then clubs, i didnt say it was impossible, just weird

  • How weight is it?

  • thanks a lot.

Have you ever measured its weight? how weight is it ?

  • Hi, thebluff:

what knid of wood did you use? and what is the diameter? and the length?

  • @aachenlin

The 20mm diameter hardwood dowel was 50 cm long.

    Hope that helps you.

What kind of wood was it? umm.. European oak, beech or ash..

But looking at your profile your coming from Asia im not up on the hardwoods in your area, sorry.

  • are the tennis balls for ballance or what?

  • @IEJP

The tennis ball doesnt really play much with the balance of the club they just protect the end of the bottle and kinda finish the look of the club.

The balance of the club comes from the hard wood dowel running up stright through the middle.

    Hope everythings clear

    Have fun making these!

  • Dood thnx sooo much. Just amde some and they are just as good as the kind you can Buy. Thnx!!

  • @wboy3

    Cool

  • =S sale mas barato comprarlos

  • nice

  • Jo geile Sache!!!

Schaue mal ob ich morgen alle Materialien zusammen bekomme. Ach und die Schleichwerbung für OBI ist mir nicht entgangen :D.

  • are they safe to drop i just a beginner at juggling clubs

  • @weardpancake

    They are bomb proof

    I still have these clubs.

    Great 4 beginners

  • @byrnspice excuse me, do you know its "weight"?

  • @weardpancake like byrnspice says...

    They are bomb proof

  • thanks my friend watched your video and made them they looked good so i want to make some myself.

and how many milliliters is the bottle

  • do you need the template

  • @weardpancake

The template really helps a LOT when cutting out the bottle for the handle.

  • its a good video...but not nessicarly "household items" Most people dont just have "2 meters of hardwood dowells. 20 meters in diameter..." but nice vid =]

  • red deutsch englisch konnst ned

  • who the devil are you talkin to?

  • are you Stewie from family guy

  • Was??

    Ich bin schon ein Englander.

  • nice vid i want to make them but does a one litre bottle work or is it better with 0.75 litre, thanks anyway.

  • yeah, wouldnt it be pretty light...i can understand how the tennis balls add some weight to the clubs....i'm gonna try them soon, cant wait...thanks for the video

  • The weight and balance comes mainly from the wooden dowel running through the club.

  • Thanks a lot for the video! I'm gonna try that. My friend once tried to make clubs out of plastic bottles and a wooden bottle. They didn't work at all.

  • They look a little bit light on the end because of the bottle, wouldn't this effect juggling a bit? Well not for 3 but variations, tricks, and juggling 4 clubs?

Very creative though and I will make some myself ;)

  • well, since the stick is the one with most of the weight, the club will probably spin pretty much around the middle. i still don't know, if i would make those. there are really cheap good clubs...

  • Today i will make it!

  • idlike to mention that you can buy different colored tennis balls plenty of places. i have white ones and red ones that i made my poi out of.

  • thanks....I did this they are reely good

  • Great,nice one man

Make a Video Response to this documentary.

    Hope you enjoy them

    :)

  • woow, man:)This is very cool. I will try this.

  • i made myself a set of clube to learn with today by cutting some pieces of wood to lenght and attatching some more wood to the ends for waight

i sanded them down and wrapped them in electrical tape.

it took me a good 40 mins and i have been practising for about 2 houers.

i can now do a good cascade that lasts about 30-40 throws.

no need to spend loads of cash on clube when you can make your own wiht stuff in your shed.

  • Hey great video! All of you kids saying you will just "buy" them. Do you realize how much clubs cost? They range from $20-$50 per club! These are actually very nice clubs. Look at the creativity and fun involved. This would be a great project for beginners to have a personalized, inexpensive set of clubs!! THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!!!

  • Thx Twinsfan28

    Keep the positive energy flowing.

  • I agree

and as long as they get the job done [that is... to show off to people that u can juggle ;-)] then why buy something you don't need??

It's so cool to style them to your own liking

And not only that... You got to drink whatever was in that bottle

    ;-)

  • i liked the vid, there aren't really pretty but they work, i'm gonna try this thing

  • to much work, it'd be alot easier and less time consuming just to buy some..

  • yep, and the clubs look like crap, and proboly dont last long

  • but it's nicer to have yours:)

  • cool, where's your cornish accent gone? lol

  • it´s ok, but isn´t cheaper buying ones? and the tennis balls--don´t loock very pretty.but it´s fine, really ^^

  • Great vid

  • very very cool man!! i saw the other tutorial on the balls. seriously.... well done!!!

  • I made the balloon/millet balls, you had in another video, and am using them to learn with! Thanks! I intend to make my own clubs your way, too. By the way, you have a lovely wife, too! You can get a glimps of her in the re-cap. "General"

  • That was pretty cool dude. I'll probably end up buying some though.

  • This is great. I'm going to do this today. Thank-you.

  • I like the unicycle in the backround! I have one like that but if you want to see me on my five foot tall unicycle just search for gordyboy99 to find me. if you dont think its me look at my videos and match me from each video.

  • "lol"!

Yeah of course you can,but if your a little nibble and creative it can be quite good fun to make them yourself.

  • You should really keep some comments to yourself. Maybe not everyone just has a hundred bucks to just blow on clubs. They're expensive. Torches especially. At least good ones.

It's called creativity, if you know what that is. It's art within art. Don't knock other people's styles. It's not about who's the best, or who has what gear. That guy is probably better than you. Professional clubs dont make you a better juggler. And yes, it takes time. But so does learning to juggle.

  • haha, 100 bucks? i used 9 bucks on my Great clubs. you dump ass.. iam better than that clown. i can juggle 5 clubs 50 catches, crotch throws, and solid backrosses, and 7 balls.. Idiot?

  • yeah, 100 bucks. I go to juggling shops. They range from 20 to 30 bucks apiece for decent clubs. But there is no point to arguing about this. I have a good point. You could juggle cats and dogs if you wanted to. It doesn't matter. Your gonna undermine me on youtube and call names? GAY.

  • dood that must take a lot of time up

  • When you construct your clubs make all three of them together and you will be surprised how fast you can make them.

The trickiest part is making the plastic wrap for the handle, thats a little tricky.

  • can you light them on fire?!?!

  • Of course you can,you can set most things on fire, but I wouldn't advise it :)

  • This seems really neat....but I'll just buy them. ;)

  • excuse why didnt you put weight in the bottle?

    answer please

  • Make them and see,its quite unbelievable but the weight of the club runs through the center and thats simply the weight of the hardwood dowel.

It works WELL they are really well balanced homemade juggling clubs.

  • They must be horribly weighted.

They look like good fun to have though, but i wouldn't use them when im working. Ill stick to PX3s =D

  • Well you do have half a tennis ball at the end of the club and the weight of the dowel helps also.

Another thing is once finished you can strengthen/decorate them with various colored tapes, this will also add extra weight if required.

Try and make them you will see, they really are WELL balanced.

  • dude thats awesome

  • umm theyre called clubs

they arent used in sewing or bowling

  • well

how much u end up spending on this homemade club?

    arent they too long?

but still the best homemade club i've seen

good luck for the ones that r gonna try it

  • thanks! clubs are so expensive thanks!

  • If anyone has made any of these clubs I would like to hear/see what you thought about them.

Someone suggested maybe a rubber ball instead of the tennis ball cos I think thats the only thing which really stands out "that its homemade"

  • yea thanks for the post that is sick

  • I have to try this

  • Good video. Excellent directions.

  • Technical Thought, congratulation.

    V. Fine movie
