Things were simpler then even though Viet Nam was still raging in its end. Sometimes when you analyze songs and/or movies too deeply you lose the whole meaning or idea. Maybe north Ontario was a draft dodger's dream haven.

I love that he's canadian too :) my dad loves neil as well; when his younger brother died young my dad used to listen to neil blaring out of the sterio because it was Dan's favourite artist. Neil's best thing is his EMOTION. It really gives life to all of his songs.
