2011 Lotus Elise car review

I've test drove this car at lotus in Leeds same colour too what a little head turner ! It's sharp responsive and theirs no way you would know you were driving a 1.6 it blew me away for the baby of the range . Although my uncles old car the exige rgb special was immense but not as good as his new Lotus Evora ;-)

Love this car, who cars about it being a 1.6 0-60mph in 6 seconds isn't exactly slow, and yeah the 127mph top speed is slower than the old entry level 1.8 model, but come on, if you want to drive 127mph on the shoddy roads we have in great Britain than you can kill yourself, what's important is that this car is fun to drive, quick to build up speed but most of all economical, it's more economical than a hybrid Toyota Prius, that's how good this lotus is

I'm sorry but this car doesn't justify the price tag because you can get a 2012 mustang gt for cheaper with 412 horsepower. It's the same with all these elite brands like BMW for example.

@cemsengul16 You are clearly not a car person. Powerful engines are just a way to compensate for one's insecurities. The Elise and Miata are in a class of their own: featherweights. True gearheads appreciate them because they offer a completely different driving experience by having 2000lb curb weights. While the Mustang is a fantastic car, it can never match the level of fun only experienced by Lotus drivers.

@marshknute yes, i love feather weight cars. audi r8 and TT curb weight is 3.6 tons. elise is only 2.1. plus the lotus elise is 150 inches in lenght. Lotus elise i think can go 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds?

@cemsengul16 That's because Ford stamps out Mustangs like cans of soda. The Elise is a hand built, limited run, expertly engineered exotic car. The Mustang on the other hand is a very simple design meant to be sold in the tens-of-thousands of units per year. For an exotic car the Elise is actually quite inexpensive.
