I will give the old version is not the best, but I have to admit it holds a very special place in my heart. It was one of the few series my sister and I got to watch Saturday mornings while growing up and remember, it was series made for little girls so it had to be simple and something where you didn't need to watch every episode in order to know what was happening. Like Sonic, the one where he likes chillidogs. I will say your comments have made me laugh a ton, specially the Dexter one.

Look on the bright side. At least they used darks so as to not burn the audience's eyes. At least there was an attempt to bring in male characters. At least there was an attempt at storytelling.

Did it all work out? Not really. But it was clear that they -tried-. And also, it was the 80's. This wasn't a great show but it wasn't much worse than what other cartoons were on at the time.
