  • the first two songs are from the greeck translation of the Βernad Bian, Τhe Ηostage [if i rember good] τα δυο πρωτα τραγουδια απο το θεατρικο του Μπερναντ Μπιαν, Ενας Ομηρος, μεταφραση Β.

  • the video is amazing an historical moment! and yes the change of the date is made on purpose!

  • I love listening to Mikis sing. His voice is very unique and it's great to hear a composer sing his own material.

  • RESPECT!!!!!!!BRAVO MIKH!!!!!

  • Hoi ulco64,

Did you also notice that the Dutch translation speaks of the 17th of November (17 november 1973: attack with tanks by the junta on peacefully demonstrating students of the Polytechnic University in Athens) and not the 18th of november?

I am not sure or this is the reason for changing the date or it is just an error.

You can find videos about that terrible attack when you search for: polytexneio. Some are with music of Theodorakis.

    greetings

    Ineke

  • Hello Ineke,

the translation 17 november is correct since Mikis is singing deka-efta (17)in stead of the usual deka-ochto (18). I am sure that he changed it to refer to the incidents of 17 november 1973. He also changed the word enemy from the original poem in facists (fasistes)

    greetings Pieter

  • anathema tin ora katara tin stigmi skotosan oi fasistes to yelasto paidi
