  • sooooo i kind of agree, but for different reasons than most (i'm guessing). It idiotic to not see the real issue here; if we dont want big bad multinational corporations (which based on mr turks definition include starbucks and mcdonalds) to cheat our system, then why not just lower tax rates to those of other countries to give an incentive for buisness to stay here?

  • Corporations are government creations

  • Get'em Cenk!

  • Go get em' Cenk!

  • So tired of TYT and cenk lying to themselves, and trying to force the liberal rhetoric off on the American people!

  • @cybervore look at likes and dislikes... then realise you are a tool

  • @slickrickdarula Likes and dislikes on Youtube, or any other internet hosting site have NO basis in real life...how many times did you hit the like button? And my wife loves my tool....how does your BF feel about yours?

  • @cybervore yeah go ahead and take your bullshit lies somewhere else. liberals have it right.

  • @Treadsoftly14 Yes, Liberals have it right...all the lies, deceptions and manipulations! Try facing up to the truth, and you'll have a much better understanding of the American way of life!

  • Correction both parties obey their corporate masters.

  • Why do I have to keep re-subscribing to channels I have been a subscriber to for a long while, I had already subbed to The Young Turks, and now I have to do it again, and again.

  • TSugaruClan....says...And there are all these non-wealthy peons in America who support Republicans, who support conservatives, who support big business and always spout off about how they want the government off their backs...

I say...the Congress and the President are Democrats...you dont get it yet..BOTH PARTIES have sold us out..When you realize that..you will join the Tea Party.and vote in common Americans into office..

  • @888American I agree, we really can't trust most politicians, regardless of political affiliation. And those we possibly can are drowned out by the sellouts. My beef with the Republicans is that they blatantly and unabashedly show that they don't care about anyone who's not wealthy, and yet people who are not being represented or cared for by them vote for them and feverishly defend them. And they truly don't even know why. They just spout out the same old ignorance and indefensible positions.

  • ha, ha. this guy makes it his true wish. enjoy your time on MSM fraud.

is this a last ditch effort by the MSM machine to con the remaining few that know they're full of shit?

ha, ha. cenk is on nbc

  • And there are all these non-wealthy peons in America who support Republicans, who support conservatives, who support big business and always spout off about how they want the government off their backs, so long as that government bends over backward to help the wealthy, to help the rich execs. Bottomline, they want the govt. to help the wealthy, and to dump on the poor. And it's those same non-wealthy people who defend the powers of the wealthy despite not being rich themselves.

  • @TsugaruClan its b/c their brainwashed to think its good by fox news. If not their "maoists" or "fascists", couldn't have that.

  • @Andy180084 That's really bad, just how deeply people allow such propaganda mills as Fox News fill their heads up without filtering that information. People need to filter information from all the media sources, including TYT.

So many times I feel I'm DONE trying to explain things to people who don't want to learn, or open their minds up beyond simplistic, slogan-shouting nonsense. If they could validly defend their stances, that's one thing, but the ignorance? It's both annoying and scary.

  • To the corporate sheeple below. High taxes are not why companies off-shore jobs. The biggest savings off-shore are in wages (10 times less) pensions, benefits, insurance, social security taxes (none). They get a hundred dollars there for every dollar they'd 'save' if we 'lowered their corproate tax rate'. Anyone who blames tax rates for a loss of jobs oveseas is a liar, or fooled by a liar. Period.

  • Cenk should talk about what a liar and warmonger is or he has lost all credibility as far as I am concerned, and I think he has.

  • for some reason i find it hard to disagree with cenk 99% of the time

  • Cenk talks as though the main problem with America is its business policies. As if fixing the tax loop holes, or any business issue, will fix America.

That's like having a computer that doesn't work properly, so you look inside and find a pair of pliers shorting it out. You pull them out, lubricate the pliers so that they work better, and then put the pliers back into your computer thinking that that will make the computer work better.

A huge waste of time, and you only live once. :(

  • I think only businesses should pay taxes, I don't think citizens should pay any taxes. Politicians who support BIG business are getting kick backs or have stock or some interest in the profits of these companies.

  • @RobNLynchburgVA When will democrats and liberals take an economics class? Corporations do NOT pay taxes - corporations are tax COLLECTORS! If you raise taxes on a corporation that runs - hmmmm - let's say a grocery store chain......who is going to end up paying the higher taxes to the federal government? THE CUSTOMERS !!!! Have you people ever heard of Profit Margin ?! Most businesses have such a slim profit margin that they are either forced to lay people off or raise prices.

  • @MetalDetroit When will republicans and corporate american take a few classes on ethics and fiscal responsibilty. When corporate executives for companies such as aig mismanage their company to the point of ruin, and then come to the american people for what amounts to a hand-out, who do you think is paying for their greed. Comapnies like enron that blatently steal from their share holders and then the people responsible get what amounts to a slap on the wrist for destroying good americans.

  • @RobNLynchburgVA For every one Enron there are 50 corporations that give massive amounts of money to local charities and funds - that pay for high school sport programs. That pay for food programs in inner cities. But they don't get the media attention do they?

  • @MetalDetroit Oh I'm sorry. That justifies all their crooked dealings. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • @MetalDetroit And by the way, they still don't pay taxes, which is their obligation to ANY state.

  • Rage Against The Machine caption, then calling out GE? Im proud Cenk.

  • Comment removed

  • So sad the way CENK, TYT, and all Libs hate America so badly

  • @cam1126 I like America.

  • @cam1126 Irony much?

  • @cam1126 - they do...and i love how they are so generous with OTHER peoples money

  • Well said Cenk, 'a wall between business and state'. I have been saying similar for a quite a while. Politicians and parties need to be divorced from campaign money.

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist

Yep then all we would know all about incumbents and they vote and nothing about anyone else because they'd have no money or way to advertise themselves. Nice try!

  • @jkpisch "then all we would know all about incumbents and they vote and nothing about anyone else because they'd have no money or way to advertise themselves"

Err...are you fucking stupid or something? who said anything about them not having any money?

  • I wish the Young Turks would not use the GE Imagination ads. They are extremely loud when they play. A big Thumbs.Down to GE

  • For a moment I thought the wall between business and state sounded good, however with the wall between church and state, the state should have no say in how a church is run but with a business it should have many points of interference. (Health and Safety, worker exploitation, discrimination and basic quality of goods and services.)

  • wow you fuckers dont stop with your propaganda... THE CORPORATIONS MONEY IS THIER MONEY, NOT YOURS. what right do you have to other peoples money? fuck you liberal scum, EARN your money, stop stealing it from the successful

  • @USMC2375 Ever heard of taxes?

What right does the government have to your money? According to you, none, so why don't you sue the government for stealing your money?

You can't have it both ways dude.

  • @Squiglypig - i didnt say none, but it should be the same rate for everyone, including business. how does one person have more right to keep his money than another person? progressive tax rates only hurt the ones who are successful, which is bullshit. wheres the incentive to make more. FAIRTAX or FLAT TAX across the board, and eliminate all these bullshit little taxes the govt like to stick everywhere so they can redistribute to those who dont deserve it

  • @USMC2375 A business isn't "someone", it's a thing. Stop looking at a business like it's a person.

Because that other person has less money than the first. I know "Well the first person EARNED his bigger amount of money!" wellfuck that! There's people in need of money more than him, obviously.

"They don't deserve it" Under what criteria? That they simply don't HAVE the money that they don't deserve to begin with?

Dude... Obama tax cut to the rich.. L2politics moron.

  • @Squiglypig - oh and i guess this "thing" isnt owned by people right? get a fucking clue. People in need? well whos fucking fault is that? the rich guys? hahahahah stop blaming others who actually contribute for the lack of effort on those "needy" people. why not put emphasis on those "needy" to get off their ass and work. Besides, if one had more money, that doesnt mean he has to share it.

    .

obama didnt cut any taxes for the rich you fucking idiot.

  • @USMC2375 The "thing" being owned by people doesn't make it a person. Not all people in need have gotten in need due to their own fault.

Remember that economic crisis that YOU'RE STILL IN?

Is that the fault of the middle and lower class citizens who are paying for it, or is it the fault of the high-ups gambling money and not gaining enough back?

It's the 2nd option, of course.

Same deal with the great depression. The poor paid for it, the rich made it happen.

  • @USMC2375 Try another source of information OTHER than Fox News. Obama DID cut the taxes for the rich. Try changing the channel for once.

Also: I bet you like the way Obama gave money to the corporations (the bail-outs)... But that's a socialist thing to do.. Isn't that against your hard-core capitalistic attitude?

I bet you weren't going to the streets saying that it was wrong of Obama to bail out the companies in danger.

  • @Squiglypig - no business should get federal money, they should fail if they made bad decisions, same way with individuals...accountability what a concept..and no obama did not cut any taxes

  • @USMC2375 Again I say "Under what criteria are the "undeserving"?". You haven't said why yet.

    And yes he did.

  • @Squiglypig - undeserving=unEARNED

  • @USMC2375 You still haven't given a criteria.

What is your criteria? If people only got what they deserved, then there would be MANY who are rich today who would be poor as hell.

In your eyes, if they've made the money by being corrupt, by bribing people, by simply being criminals all in all, they've deserved their money. You haven't stated anything that points to the opposite at least.

From what you've said, whatever money you have earned you deserve, drug dealers included.

  • @USMC2375 Wow, you are completely out of your mind. You are not living in anything that resembles the real world. There are 14.2 million people unemployed, and 3.4 million job openings. That means that 10.8 million people can't get off their ass and work... BECAUSE THERE IS NO JOB FOR THEM. No matter how much or little effort they put in does not matter... BECAUSE THERE IS NO JOB FOR THEM.

And yes, Obama did cut taxes for the rich, moron. Like the estate tax.

  • @thanatos101b - 142. million unemployed because of liberal policies, high taxes on business, restrictions on buiness and high cost of hiring. and there are plenty of jobs, these people think they are above...i dont buy it for a second. estate tax if complete bullshit. the govt thinks they have the right to your money because you died? that has been already taxed

  • @USMC2375 If you're dead it's not your money any more.

Because of LIBERAL policies? and 142 million unemployed? That's about half the US population, are you sure about that? So you see the results of the Bush administration during the Obama administration and come to the conclusion that Obama is to blame. What a logical fellow you are.

  • @Squiglypig - then it goes to the next in line of your family, not the govt.

  • @USMC2375 And what if it's not clear who it goes to?

If the will doesn't state who gets it, who's supposed to get it then?

  • @USMC2375 This is what we refer to as a lie. There are only 3.4 million job openings, that is a fact. So no, there are not "plenty" of job openings. And neither high taxes, nor "restrictions" nor "high cost of hiring" have anything to do with it. It's because business are run incompetently by people who can only see their short sighted greed. The government has a right to your money because the government is going to enforce your will, idjit.

  • @thanatos101b - there would be more openings if it was so damm expensive to hire, and if there were not so many restrictions and overhead, mostly by the federal govt. If you think that has nothing to do with it, then you have no clue about economics or a business. ENFORCE YOUR WILL? are you a fucking communist?

  • @USMC2375 That's simply false. If a business can make profit from hiring someone they will. Restrictions and overhead don't matter at all. But I love your consistent failure at understanding economics. And no, I am not a communist, I am a socialist-libertarian. And do you understand what a "will" is? It's this document that a person fills out that determines who gets what portions of their property when they die. The government is the one who enforces this document. Idiot.

  • Big government is going to be a friend of Big Bizz every time. That's why the tea party rails for a small federal govt and strong states. That's the only way small bizz has a chance. But if you like big multinational corporations, continue to rail for a big federal government.

  • @megagagnon1 - I have yet to see the Tea Party rail against Big Business or support anything favors the working/middle class and small business over Big Business. These tax breaks won't benefit most small businesses.

  • @A86 Downsizing the federal government would help small businesses. This administration has been especially hostile to small businesses, which explains the unemployment problem, since 75% of private sector jobs come from small businesses. Big government is anathema to small businesses.

  • @megagagnon1 - What have they done that's hostile to small business? I agree they haven't done much for them but what they done that was hostile?

As for the Tea Party I haven't seen a single thing they've proposed that would help small business. Their idea of "downsizing" is simply cutting Social Security and Medicare and welfare programs for the poor but supporting tax cuts for the rich, cutting the estate tax for the few thousand super-rich families, etc. That won't help small biz.

  • @A86What's hostile to small biz?Obamacare. S510 the food bill that will destroy small food growers. The FCC is going to encroach upon the web - that's sure to hurt sooner or later. Obama tried to end the Bush tax cuts - that would've meant higher taxes for small biz.The moratorium on offshore drilling hurt all the small businesses related to drilling. And the 1099 provisions in Obamacare adds a mountain of paperwork for small biz. And the uncertainty of what Obama will do next discourages hiring

  • @megagagnon1 - There is nothing in the Healthcare Bill that hurts small business owners. That's a myth:

    (.) factcheck (.) org/2010 /04/ more-malarkey-about-health-care/

There are tax credits in the bill for small businesses.

  • @megagagnon1 - The railing about the food bill is just so much Fox News claptrap:

    mediamatters (.) org/iphone / research/ 201012010033

There aren't many small businesses related to offshore drilling. Most of the companies involved are big businesses and some are even foreign-owned (like BP). The Bush tax cuts did nothing to help small businesses and ending them wouldn't hurt them:

    (.) usatoday (.) com/money / smallbusiness/ columnist/abrams/ 2010-12-03-bush-tax-cuts-small-business_N (.) htm

  • @megagagnon1 - In fact, most Teabaggers seem to support indefinite wars in the Middle East and seem to support inflating the already-bloated military budget. That would actually HURT small businesses because a lot of small business owners are already footing more of the bill for these wars than big business. Increasing the military budget is eventually going to equate to either tax increases for small business or at least an increase in their tax burden.

  • @A86 Some tea partiers are neocons is disguise, but Cenk talked just yesterday about the 5 tea partiers that broached the topic of cutting the military. That's something a dem or a repub wouldn't do.

  • Separation of business and state. We need 28th Amendment.

  • Bank of AMERICA and it's not paying any fucking taxes to AMERICA!

Honestly. Where the fuck are the licensing fees they should be paying to use the name of MY COUNTRY and the image of MY FLAG in their logo? THAT'S WHAT THE TAXES ARE.

  • @foomaaa

    Yeah lets not tax them!

  • Burning GE on MSNBC! Nice one!

  • You are naive Cenk. There's no profit in doing the right thing.

  • rofl watch cenk "retire" for attacking GE.

  • republicans like to get down on their knees, and suck rich man's penis.

  • @Andy180084

damn, id like to see that. pretty flexible to suck their own dick. lol. "republican"- not the common man republican = rich white dude.

  • @Andy180084

Andy maybe you should go back to college and try to become rich. Start by acting your age not your IQ

  • @jkpisch unfortunately not everyone can be rich. some of us can only afford a regular state college, like me, or community college, not an ivy league one like yale, brown, or harvard, which is the current requirement to be rich. Not my goal anyways, my goal is for equality, not sovereignty.

  • Cenk for president.

Or at least secretary of the treasury.

  • @FuckYouLetMeLogIn

or like in the movie Idiocracy, the Secretary Of Keepin it Real. or the Regulator in General Of Them Dirty Bitches.

  • Wow, I've been saying for years that we need a separation of corporations and state - it's good to hear the Cenk has picked up on it

  • keep speaking the truth cenk! you are the only one who is....

  • @MrQuan2u

Giving tax breaks to the rich! The government can't take what's not there's.

The only thing that's free is the Grace of God!

  • The $0 tax model is great for attractiving companies short term; however, companies know the model doesn't work for long term industry - see Ireland.

  • J Lo is into tax avoidance.

  • yeah liberals like you idiots would surely use that tax money in productive ways right? How about the corporations just take that tax money and set it on fire? Then you see it will be as productive as what a liberal would ever do with that money. And when you think about it for every dollar a liberal taxes they tend to spend 1.8 dollars. So, this way by burning it it will save us all from more govt debt!

  • "There not allowed to have a soul or feelings"!

But they do have all of the rights of a US citizen!

You can incorporate a company in a foreign country to avoid US taxes, but can you incorporate yourself in a foreign country, and avoid US tax?

    "HELL NO YOU CAN'T"!

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth nor can corporations be drafted, called for jury duty, vote, subpoenia'd (misspell 4 sho).... want all the rights, but unable to shoulder responsibilities of a citizen... so they shouldnt be considered as such; @ least thats how i see it

  • @jkpisch How much do you get paid to troll? I mean, come on, no one is that stupid. Do you get a bonus for profanity? How does it work exactly?

  • Comment removed

  • @TruthAndMoreTruth

Hey Commie Basterd! I'll say whatever the fuck I want to! Maybe you should go talk about your fillings about me with Opera. Please get the fuck to Turkey! No wonder why it's been so cooled in the US lately. Snowing all the time. Get to Turkey! Please! When you're cold the sun always shines!

  • @jkpisch

No said you couldn't say what you wanted.

I'm not sure what talking about by "fillings" with Opera would accomplish. Did you mean to say "feelings"?

"No wonder why it's been so cooled in the US lately"? Did you mean "Cold"? BTW it's winter, and historically cold. Snow doesn't cause the cold, rather it's a symptom if it.

I don't mind the profanity, but you could at least answer the question. Or, is there some reason you can not? Will they not pay you if you admit to being paid? Well?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @jkpisch

So, I guess you can't answer the question?

    It's a simple question really.

I'll take the lack of an answer as the obvious answer.

And why are your comments removed? Are you deleting them?

  • Difference b/w MSNBC and Fox News is that if Cenk worked for Fox, that graph would have ended before showing their parent company was one of the big companies that paid zero U.S. taxes.

Dems tried to bring a bill killing tax incentives for corps that ship jobs overseas and guess who blocked it? That's correct, the GOP.

  • this is why i want communism

  • Oh damn, Cenk called out GE while working for a company they own! Now that's ballsy!

  • Oh shit! Cenk dropped the bomb on his own company! That is incredibly cool.

  • doesn't matter where your stations are, you being a company centered in the united states, you are taxed for every station you own, out side the US borders.

  • Oh, and I loved the last statement.

USSR anthem should have been playing on the background and Cenk should have been painted over a huge red flag.

  • Business and State need to be separated, that's for sure.

They way they need to be separated is as follows:

    1. Gov't shrinks by 99.9%, it's spending shrinks by 99.9%, 99.9% of all gov't workers are fired, the way Hardin did it in 1920 (he fired 70% of them though only, but today the gov't is a thousand times bigger, you need bigger cuts.)

    2. Abolish: Fed,IRS,FDIC,Freddie/Fannie,CIA,EPA,FAA,FCC etc.etc., all the agencies except minimum military and Justice dep't.

    done

  • @romanmir01 I can't take seriously anyone who would seriously consider endorsing the abolishment of the EPA, the agency that makes sure our water is safe to drink.

  • @korbanman How is that EPA working out for all those people, who doesn't have safe drinking water in USA?

The gov't must not be doing anything at all except minimum military and justice (and unfortunately cops/prisons).

Everything else is a private matter and it won't be worse, it would be better if gov't got out of it and pure capitalism returned with competition and complete ownership of all assets, which would mean there would be actual owners who'd care about the water.

  • @korbanman Only real owners can care about water. You are a neighbor to other people, who share the same water table, then if you screw up, you are on the hook and must be answering to them. That's what the justice system is needed for as well.

  • There is NO patriotic duty to pay taxes! That's ridiculous.

  • No, the most important thing to realize is that the whole idea of a corporation is a *fiction* used by the people who run them to evade responsibility.

  • AMORAL is a meaningless term for describing the prevailing policies in corporate America. When a corporation can operate as an individual & intervene in elections with the impact of thousands of votes, when they promote corruption, fraud in the political process, when they promote Wars to benefit from, when they send the sick & the needy to their death-bed for lacking insurance, when….. they should be called what they are, deviant & greedy, unpatriotic & destructive to America, & yes Immoral.

  • Something is wrong when EXXON makes BILLIONS in net profits and I pay more in income tax than EXXON does.

  • @jkpisch So you're saying that giving these companies their tax "holidays" and the rich people their tax cuts will make the economy come to?

What sort of universe do you live in?

  • @Squiglypig

Giving? When you take something that isn't yours it's called stealing. There is no such thing as a free lunch- milton friedman

The only thing that's free is the Grace Of GOD.

  • @jkpisch When you take something because otherwise they'd bring it in illegally it's not stealing. If I see you sneak in a candy bar into your coat in a store, It's okay for me to encounter you with that and ask you to step into the next room.

You're saying that criminals have a RIGHT to what they've successfully stolen.

And of COURSE the grace of a being that tells you to slaughter your children if they misbehave is endless, I mean look at all the good genocides he commanded.

    Troll.

  • @jkpisch Have you heard the good news of Eris? She would set you free from this delusion.

Such as the idea that the people who benefit the most from the government (the rich) are some how being stolen from when they have to foot the bill. Is it stealing when the customers at a restaurant are given a bill for the food they eat? No, it is not.

  • I'm for lowering or exempting companies from biz taxes temporarily to get a profit going so they can employee people, but this should be for companies who actually need a tax break, not giant corporations who profit billions every quarter. Tax breaks should be for US only based companies who employ most of their workforce if not all within the US and who consistently add US citizens to their workforce every quarter. So many companies are running lean and have no right to even ask for a break.

  • Perfectly stated.

  • Bold and ballsy Cenk, nice work lol

  • come on down to singapore baby hahaha :P

  • Seriously, we have FUCKED the idea of national capitalism to the point of near death. She's begging and screaming at this point. This is the CLEANER version of the metaphor I'd like to use.

It's like Cenk's saying, unless we had a single international government, this set up does NO good for the United States. We give the richest entities "in the US" all the breaks in the world, they hold OUR money as capital, and WE cover all of the federal revenue, and then wonder why we're broke. TAX THEM.

  • Wow!... he just called out GE while hosting on MSNBC. Respect!

  • Sounds like tax breaks are a good thing then. Bring those millions of jobs and trillions of dollars back here. At a lower tax rate than overseas. Or we get nothing like we get now.

  • PEOPLE run companies. So those PEOPLE are horrible.

  • i guess then most of america lives in a cave since they voted this guys in

  • You forget Cenk,

that several of "President" Obamas Administration

also took their "tax holiday", so don't hold your breath on this one.

  • I was half expecting someone to tackle Cenk when he said that the parent company of msnbc made 10.3 billion dollars outside US.

  • Gee Cenk!

    You go get them boy!

    Peas.

  • @AceHoale Peas taste good and are good for you.

  • At the same time, individuals working overseas have to pay taxes in the country where they live and work, and ALSO pay taxes in the US even though they aren't earning any of that money here.

  • Cenk you have huge balls. Good work.

  • @xerbus9001 wrong, you just have no balls

  • @xerbus9001 balls the size of aircraft carriers

  • There should a list of each and every American corporation that outsources jobs - and it should be posted for everyone to see everyday so that we can decide if we want to purchase their goods or not.

  • How long until the rich ask for a "Permanent Tax Holiday"? Any bets?

  • @A86 They wont need to ask. That's the sad part.

  • @A86 than whats the difference of there current status ?

  • @A86 i give it 3 years

  • @A86 3 years

  • @A86

Do we call that tax retirement?

  • @A86 We need it NOW. The rich are the heroes of America and we need to have our taxes cut so we can employ proles.

  • @A86 What are you talking about? The Minarchist Libertarians have been asking for a "Permanent Tax Holiday" for nearly 40 years.

  • @A86 If republicans win the next election, right then and there.

  • @A86 about three days

  • LMFAO. What a joke of a society we live in.

  • Amen

good work Cenk... keep busting them up

let others call you cynical... so be it... just be honest

  • separation of business and state! some ineresting stuff there, Cenk!

  • Thumbs up if you agree with Cenk.

  • Great Segment by Cenk.

  • Looks like the CEO of GM found this video and disliked it.

  • Separation of Church and State of the 21st century?

  • @ibstrd correct...its all about balancing the money and power

  • Awww i feel all warm and fuzy inside knowing how well the government treats big bisuness :D

    *sarcasm

  • America runs on distractions and shallow values. It's a road to nowhere. Art and science should replace gold. Our culture is in hibernation, and the most important philosophical questions don't interest us, or they don't show up on our radars at all.

  • well said :)

  • So Mr. Burns was based on a true story...I see. UGH. That's it, I'm opting out of the rat race. I'll own a business or sell my blood, I'm out.

  • Actually...it is an Immoral machine, not an Amoral one. Amoral is anti-moral...to act in direct opposition to moral considerations. Immoral is neutral...to act without any kind of regard either way for moral considerations. Corporations are therefore Immoral...and also impractical, which is where the real problem lies. Hurricanes are immoral, but perform a necessary function. Corporations are immoral, and are more like financial wrecking balls.

  • Here is a radical idea. Why bother chasing these companies for income tax when they are not even "living"? The loopholes let them slip out of paying anything anyway. Let's just tax them at 50% for every American terrestrial resource they use. The company spends $1million on water, they owe $500,000 (how this is split between local and federal govs TBD. Same goes for employee resources (kinda like payroll tax), and certainly we need to tax pollution.

  • I maybe naive but I just thought of an idea, it popped out for some reason.

Why can't the government give a stamp to "American companies", telling consumers that they are certified patriotic companies. Those companies have a headquarters in America, who pays their taxes, and has a certain % of their employees who live and work in America.

  • Please stop with the "companies are amoral" stuff. They are driven by people who make money when the corporation makes money (and as we've seen with the thieves on Wall St., even when it doesn't). What you are describing are acts of unmitigated self-interest. As long as there is a human element, there will be a moral component. Tax evasion, whether is by the actions of corporate lawyers, or by someone's individual choice, is immoral.

  • Wow this was even news to me. I knew why companies made note jobs out of country but I never knew they could get money in tax free

  • Is there something wrong in being a virgin?

  • @Jussimania nope

  • EXXONMOBIL paid $0 in US taxes last yr as well as many other huge corporations

  • Cenk is great when he speaks about this stuff.
