@Hytjeie Almost all countries in Europe were bankrupt after the 2nd world war and they received money to rebuild their country. If they chose to be communistic, they didn't receive any money of the USA and keep in mind that the USA kept us back on track with an good economic system, but we lost Indonesia due to the Americans which pushed us to give it to those local inhabitants, otherwise Indonesia was still Dutch ground.

i think the greatest achievement of the dutch is when they penetrated into the heartland of the malay world, and pacified few kingdoms, establish trade, and suppress piracy. it amazes me how they did that. i wish i can travel back in time, and live the time when the dutch flag was hoisted here.
