first of all i have lived in lynchburg for 18+ years, and as a black man i HATE it!..no opportunities for young adults in anyway. On every corner there is somewhere to get fatter, and no where for us to go. If what had half of what other decent cities had, you wouldn't see us out on corners or getting harrassed by LPD. Give us centers, clubs, theaters, arcades, more parks, more opportunities..then you will see a change. You folks can sit around and discuss these things all you want..do something

True. We only have four parks: Miller, Riverside, Peaksview, and one other on Blackwater Creek. The Boys and Girls Club is just off of 12 St. We've only got three theatres. There's only one arcade in the mall. Give us more center, clubs, theaters, arcades, and parks. Then things will get better.  I live in White Rock, though, so I only see drug dealers lurking and crack heads breaking into my roommate's car.

Race is a two side coin. Point of Honor and Federal hill are going be "blighted" until the blacks only club ends and the residents of those neighborhoods stop protecting drug dealers. Just take white/black and replace it with oh... The "pants only club" and the "shorts only club" and you will see how absurd the issue is.

Talk is dirt cheap.If the black community wants to end racism.. stop talking and start loving white people. Go out to a white community and help build parks, schools and be a friendly neighbor. Show that you are willing to love them, not just debate them. Talk, dialogue, is only good in classrooms and textbooks. In real life, it takes more than talk. Love the white man. Forgive him for the sins of his fathers' fathers' father. Blacks are the only ones who can free themselves.
