  • this scene still makes me cry... so heartbreaking

  • Best in movie history

  • Wow, amazing scene..aww

  • I never cry at movies, but I cried at this scene.

  • that lttile black kid is a beast

  • This shows the difference between black and white cultures in the 1960's....blacks were mostly dying in riots for "civil" rights....most Whites were dying in a senseless war.

  • One of the greatest movies ever made, in my humble opinion.

  • Always cry at this part.

  • This is the only cover I have have thought was better than an original beetles song.

  • @aa72on Beatles*

  • i need that woman to sing at my funeral.

  • i love this movie. this scene makes me cry everytime

    <3

  • maybe the ones that dislike dislike people dying;)

  • ahora son 11 las q no tienen alma

  • Is it just me, or does this song sound better than the original Beatles cover? They have more emotion i feel

  • You should have heard the collective gasp from the entire theater audience at 2:18. I've never been to a movie before or since that got that kind of a emotional reaction from everyone watching. Very sad and powerful.

  • this movie was made for youtube. as a whole it's a bit much to take. but individual songs are very good. this was easily the highlight of the movie.

  • One of the most beautiful and powerful sequences on film. The woman who made this incredible film is a creative genius. Such a clever person. This version of 'Let It Be' with that beautiful singer and the choir just kills me every time.

  • This gives me goosebumps every time, man. It's really deep.

    :')

  • how the F... can people dislike this? :/ it's actually sad!

  • This is THE most powerful amazing "gospel song" ever! Just the way the director portrayed the song and the meaning!! It may not have been what Paul McCartney was saying or maybe it totaly was, either way this should be played everywhere all over the world 24/7, maybe people would start to realize how egotistical many people are and that racisim and war and everything else that that totaly rediculous dosen't have to be...period!

  • Almost as good as the original.

  • 2012

  • Vietnam war

  • @usmarine360 Time period, conflict no, read the description

  • Let it be

  • Best seen alot to learn bout love now

  • Learn to love one another...

  • My favorite scene... =)

  • this part is deep..i wasn't expecting that to happen

  • There aren't words to describe how this makes me feel.

  • When I absolutely, positively, have to ball my freaking eyes out.

  • @pandagoth Its.. uh BAWL, not ball, sends the wrong message bro

  • I get cold chills every time I hear that kids voice <3

  • +1

  • this song should be sung in every funeral.

  • Love how when he says: "Whispers word of wisedom" the soldier starts screaming: "GET DOWN!"

  • I just love Carol Woods

  • This clip should have a Nobel Prize

  • My goosebumps start to come even before he starts to sing

  • ok so doesnt the soldier in the beginning on the right look like tom hanks or is it just me?

  • My teacher introduced this to me :D

  • This movie is one of the most amazing movies ever!!!!

    ps. EVER

  • No matter how many times I see this I get emotional when the mothers start crying.

  • That lady has THE most amazing voice!! Wow! Gives me chills everytime.

  • i wanna know why there is a war there someone help me

  • @spirtkid128 The scene with the kid isn't a war, it's the Detroit riots. The boyfriend is dead because of Vietnam, which this movie takes place during.

  • @spirtkid128 The detroit race riots were shown and the boyfriend died in the Vietnamese war

  • this is just... spectacular. absolutely beautiful. the original is great, but this one has so much emotion and power even without the visual. phenominal.

  • i love when the lady comes in at 2:34 and i love all the singers voices. No im gonna go rent this movie.

  • :')

  • I love this song by the Beatles but I have to say, my hat is off to the visual aspect of this video. It packs an emotional punch! :)

  • I've heard this song many times, but this version gives me the chills.

    Beautiful

  • She, by far!!! has the best voice Ive ever herd...this scene would not be as emotional with out her singing.

  • is it just me, or does this seem sped up some? from other versions on youtube i mean.... like the key seems different but i think the audio is just sped up a bit

  • oh dear god, we watched this is class and i was saying 'hold it together damn you!' becuase it was just so sad

  • 9 people have no souls

  • @rumiku90 or they just couldn't see the like button from the tears in their eyes

  • @rumiku90 11 people

  • @rumiku90 make that 11 people have no souls...

  • i have watched this scene a million times - and i cry every single freaking time!!!! BEST SCENE IN A WONDERFUL MOVIE

  • Holy shit I'm crying -.-

  • This made my jaw drop. Absolutely beautiful

  • Beautiful... Just beautiful... T-T

  • i may be an atheist no.w and white, but that woman that leads the choir reminds me of my old Sunday school teacher so much

  • @Chainsawhandsbzzz What does this have to do with you being atheist or white?

  • @Chainsawhandsbzzz That teacher was special for you eh?

  • Beautiful and haunting...I can't stop watching it even though it makes me cry.

  • I have to say, i felt worse cause the kid died then the Boyfriend...

  • Chills and tears <3

  • definitely cried my eyes out during this part of the movie, i get the chills every time i hear this song

  • I love the beauty and tragedy in this song...

  • It makes me really sad that the best part of this song was cut from the soundtrack version of this song.

  • so beautiful :O

  • This scene makes me cry every time I watch the movie.

  • @SparksYukiSparks - I remember watching the movie for the first time & when they showed him in the coffin, I cried. Didn't see that one coming. Thought it would be the girl's boyfriend.

  • @dilophtoraptor It's interesting that you say white people are portrayed as evil and Blacks as hope. Especially since Julie Taymor the screenwriter and director is white. So who exactly are you suggesting needs to get over it? Also with the exception of the race riot(which happened during those times making it relevant to the movie's plot) all the problems were written in a way that's universal across all races.

  • when i watched this movie for the first time i wasn't expecting this and i cried my eyes out which very rarely ever happens to me! they way they have composed this piece to keep the integrity of the original song and yet give it so much meaning is just beautiful

  • the 9 people who dislike need to get a reality check for real!!

  • this partn made me cry like hell when i first heard it.. -.-

  • How can someone not cry. This is just beautiful

  • This part is very sad u.u

  • questo film fa piangere piangere piangere piangere...

  • easily one of the most moving musical numbers ever

  • <3

  • Gets me in tears évery time I hear it.

  • For some reason the notes at 1:33 remind me of the music from Tarzan

  • @dilophtoraptor you know im not freaking out or anything thats just what i think no hate : D

  • @dilophtoraptor There not really for me at least portraying white people as evil i feel more like there just describing the equal suffering of both and the pain that unites both of us

  • first movie i ever cried during and it's because of this song. My brother is in the military.

  • It's the worst song I've evr herd

  • @gonzojosh555 you have no soul

  • @gonzojosh555 you're full of shit!

  • I usually don't cry during movies... I will proudly admit that I was in tears halfway through the song. It, combined with the imagery, is just so moving... Thanks for posting this.

  • this song is on my top five songs that make me cry : {

  • @101lovesickgurlz i agree

  • omg. this is absolutely beautiful.

  • Can I cry alot or a little? lol... This is good stuff for us to watch.

  • :c im gunna go cry now....

  • wonderful song i want to cry now ;((

  • 2:53 i saw the answer...

  • this was the saddest scene of the whole movie. i symbolized the deaths of the ppl in the USA of riots and how little kids shouldnt have to die. it symbolizes the death of all the american soldiers in vietnam who were fighting a war that may or may not have been there. think about it. should this happen?

  • @ladyjenova83 me to! great just great version.

  • kids intro is my favorite part :) acappella just sounds so powerful and more appropriate for this video, i guess it goes better with the story line of the movie leading to the song.

  • There's no words

  • I want to cry

  • 8 people have not had mother mary come to them :P

  • @smithkatherine2497

I haven't either, but i still love this song

  • i cryed so long once i saw this

  • This song has soo much power every time i listen i get chills and want to cry... and i do

  • saw this in a high school class and i am hella in love wit this song, its crazy sad...

  • can you tell me the name of the black singer??

  • @bric8 which?

  • it's incredible how this song whit those scenes touched me inside... I think that i have nothing to complain....there is always something worse...

  • Bellissimo...e tristissimo <3

    just lovely hermoso. <3

  • Ok am I the only one who sees Tom Hanks on the right at 0:17 really its gotta be him!

  • @butterfly4001 No...I dont think so...:/

  • This is probably my favorite scene in the movie. Yes, it's sad and the story behind it is horrible. But it is so powerful, how can you NOT admire it?

  • The military wouldn't inform to a girlfriend. They would inform to next of kin. Also, those guys are too low-ranking to be informers.

  • @ff2paladin It was to the soldier's mom, not the girlfriend, the girlfriend just happened to be there and saw what was happening. Did you even watch the movie? It's not even supposed to be about their ranking, just appreciate the scene. It's a beautiful scene, appreciate it for what it is.

  • This part always makes me get so sad!! i am 14 so i wasnt born in the 60s. were these riots really this violent? because if it was, then i am for real disappointed and shocked!

  • thumbs up if across the universe should be a musical

  • what a voice she has

  • I cry every time i here this, so powerful and so moving.

  • This video can make a grown man cry. It's just so powerful.

  • Wow this is actually a pretty cool cover. I still prefer the original by The Beatles though.

  • Why use Autotune in THIS?! Would be SO much better without it. Bleugh..

  • @liamnarrie i am really confused as to where you hear the auto-tuning.

  • @liamnarrie you are so incredibly stupid

  • 2:33 is the note i live for.

  • @0123thejewel i try....but i cant reach it! ;-)

  • Who the **** dares to dislike this song? :(

  • @davidbjoern the worst kind of person. dares to dilike it.

  • Ol' Georgie and John smile down upon this<3

  • 8 people don't know what music is

  • this song and video put together brings tears to my eyes

  • what a voice! whats the woman's name?

  • Ya Ya ya ya ya ya ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There's gonna be an an answer. I want you to let it be!!

  • I just cried

  • Man, I remember seeing this movie in a packed theater, and after this part, the audience was dead silent. It was that intense.

    It's a beautiful scene. :')

  • @SimpleFaith The most moving part of the "Let it be" scene was the whole audience gasping that it was the little boy who was in the casket....I'll never forget it.

  • (tears coming down) this is what matters

  • THIS IS PURE SOUL.

  • 2:34 blows my face off! Too bad it's not in the soundtrack version, but man does she belt it in the movie clip!

  • That woman is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

She sings with so much emotion!!!

It is moving to hear it!!

  • i cry everytime i here this, but it never stops me from listening to it again

  • This song reminds me of what this world has become. I wish things were different so badly right now, I hate it.

  • This is the only part of any movie that ever made me cry. I still get teary-eyed every time I see it...

  • me and tim go to the same school together. fredonia all the way and tim makes it all the better.

  • So beautiful. Makes me cry every time :(

  • I've cried every time I watched this, except for this time because that boy is in my class, and now I'm too excited to be upset...ahahaha. XD
