I also have never seen this portion of the video. I hop ei can find more. it is rare to have anyone explain the omote and ura of a technique, that which is seen and that which is understood by those in battle. Thanks for posting this valuable insight to this kata.
The technique for when you fall down in battle peeks my interest. In the european schools that's reffered to as half swording, or fighting at the shortened sword. You grip the blade of your longsword with the left hand and use it much like a short spear. useful for infighting and and driving the point of your blade into the soft spots of an armoured opponents. I've never seen any examples of it in Japanese swordsmanship until now. Too cool.
