nice video. i just recently got my pair of shtctb leopard gecko and they are really amazing pet. my female just laid eggs last week and very much exited to see the hatchlings tho i have a question i dont put them in an incubator but i followed as i was instructed to put them in the sand that has a water.. am i doing it right?

@killerofkoga sand is bad, they eat it and they will get sick, same with cocoa bark stuff they could accidently eat that too, best is just a green matt for lizards, rocks are too hot, substrates like cocoa and sand can be ingested which is bad, and newspaper carries bad chemicals, yer best off with a green matt for lizards

i have a few qustion im a first time owner wit a leopard gecko ive fed her the crickets the day i got her (2/2/12) she ate all but one i seen today i put mealworms in with her today but she looks kinda skinny idk if thats normal for a gecko or not like i said im new to owning one i have a ball python im still learnin from her lol does it really matter if u use sand or coconut bark for bedding wit them? is it normal when i get her out she goes right for the back of my neck?

@Ghostface526 I say repti carpet/Eco carpet or paper towels. DO NOT use sand. While your gecko is hunting it could swallow the sand which builds up and causes impaction which can kill him/her.

hey man i have a semi juvinile male leo and he doesnot eat when i feed him i have had him for about 3 weeks when i say he does not eat i mean to say he doesnot attack the crickets like yours does do you know why this could be and most of the crickets die and i find them around the house i dont know if they just find a way out or the leo just does not want them so he just leavest them alone till they can find a way out please let me know of any advice....

@laxnake2 You need a tight lid for starters. Just give him one at a time. Try some worms too, maybe he will take those instead. If you just got him it can take a long time before he eats. Dont change his set up, let him get use to it and make sure hes not in an area where he will get stressed out. Like next to your speakers or cat. He will come around.

@nevilleblackphoto i miss my geckos they were awesome and MAKE sure there r no beatles in ur tank! idk how but 1 got in mine and killed my fav gecko and havent had 1 sence. the top was on tight and i always check the tank so idk how it got in there but beautiful gecko man!

@reininghorses57 He eats superworms now and one every two days. But I mix it up. I dont have a set feeding schedule for him. He likes to hunt so sometimes I will skip a day, others Ill feed him every day. Thats just how I do it... seems to keep him happy and healthy.

I bought a female leopard gecko a month ago, and she just keeps eating and eating and eating more... she grows so fast ! I think she's gonna be a huge leopard when full grown. I mean, within 2 weeks I see a difference. It's crazy. She's an awesome pet, so kind and easy going. Leopard geckos are smarter and more curious than I thought.

@Brstitelj it is what you put at the bottom of your tank/tub/vivarium etc for example for substrate I use newspaper and the guy who made this vid used reptile carpet you can also use paper towels (but do not use sand or any loose substrate because of impaction) =)
