Orr did everything by himself because no one could follow him, he was that great, not only could he controle the pace of the game, but he was so fast he could take the puck from behind his net, drive it deep into de offensive zone without any difficulty, take a shot, then go back at his own blue line before the other team was ready to do anything.

Richard his probaly the best pure goal scorer ever to have played the game, this guy was the first to score 50 goals in 50 games, and that was when there was only 6 team. He wasn't the fastest, he didn't had the best shot, but his shot was so fast, some goaltender could still be searching for the puck in front of them after the Rocket scored, and he had such a great will, his teamates said of him that every fiber of his body was disgusted by the simple idea of loosing.

Are you kidding, any of the original six would destroy any of todays team. Imagine if there would be only six team today, only the best could still play. Only the 24 best players could still play in the nhl, and they would have no choice but to give the best they can everyday since there would be alot of talented player that would just wait for a chance to replace them, so every team would be full of today's star, even on the fourth line.

The skill level has increased so dramatically over 70 years that the original six couldn't skate as fast, hit as hard, nor shoot the puck as good it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Players are only getting better and better every year.

The reason the players seems better today is because of all the evolution off ice. The stick are made to make you shoot harder than before, the skate makes you faster then the hold skate, but the most important thing, is the training and the nutrition. Read about the old time, when player where eating anything before a match and had bad training. With today's training and if they watch what they eat like today's player do, I can assure you that the original 6 would dominate the league.
