  • I went here in 1984 and loved it. I was even lucky enough to go inside the tower to the Carillon Library and to see the bells and keyboard up close and personal. The sounds really do create a unique atmosphere that compliments nature's creations - and Man's.

  • What a beautiful bells except the treble bells which are slightly out of tune. I heard the Australian Canberra and Sydney bells which were recast by Whitechapel in England. Very well done! Also the Dutch bell founders Eijsbouts and Petit & Fritsen can make small bells for each carillon with a much better tone than these in the Bok singing tower. This carillonist makes real music. I feel piano and forte in his playing; well done! It’s an unknown piece to me but well performed. Go on like this.

  • @Carillonnl The new treble bells at Canberra were recently

cast by John Taylor, not by Whitechapel

  • @Carillonnl Thank you for your kind comments. This arrangement is now published by ACME (American Carillon Music Editions). I will be playing it on June 27, 2011 for the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America and World Carillon Federation's joint congress in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Lee.

  • @Carillonnl not out of tune ;-) colourful ;-)

  • When I think of all the divine and human creativity that led to this event...the writing of the original melody by George L. Allen, the unforgettable lyrics written later by Thomas A. Dorsey, the gifts of those who built the bell tower and organ--still working!--the training of this gifted organist Lee Cobb, the inspiration of the videographer who took this film, the gardener who created the landscaping for nature to thrive.....I marvel at the goodness of the Lord and His creation.

  • I love to drive up to Lake Worth and just relax listening to the Bok Carillon - it is worth the 2.5 hours trip (each way) from Fort Lauderdale. Thanks for sharing this video!

  • Big Bell, Bastian! The largest bell at Bok Tower sounds Es0, and weighs about 11 tons, cast by Taylors at Loughborough. This successfull bell was re-produced later for the carillons of Ann Arbor and Washington DC, and around 1990 also as a swinging bell for Malta. It is about time they do it again!
