what the hell i am getting very p***ed with getting the achievement i managed to pass the wave were you rush the 3 lel 3's and the end of the map with out upgrading when when i got up to level 27 were i also get f***ed ever time using the extra $ i had got some of the towers later in the video then at lel 30 had the same towers as the video + some other towers and still could not get the f***ing achievement this is by far one of the most f***ed achievement in the world

I just did it exactly 100% the same as the video and it worked. IDK what the patch was for, but this does work. I had to replay a few parts of the video towards the end because things happened so fast. If you watch closely and pause to compare, follow it exactly and it works the same.

P.S. I suggest watching the wave completely before you try it for yourself.

Final wave failed for me even though I did exactly as you did... Seems that this guide is not a 100% success. It is a pretty damn hard achievement, though.

@Lokusas Sorry that wave is giving you trouble, it was the hardest for me too. There have been some update patches to XBL that changed the game stats slightly, affecting the way you need to set it up. Check some of the comments below, it may take some time, but I believe you will find your answer. Oh and please try to keep the language clean, this site is for everyone. Thanks.

i feel sorry for the handheld carriers that try this(the non-IP versions) because the other versions have unit caps(38 i think) making it impossible for them to copy the setup :D

it didnt work at wave 27 for me either, and i even had a soldier one lvl higher than one of yours, at the black mage, and i made the time mages before starting

@madstheboy Sorry about that, there was an update applied to the game after the fact. The technique is still similar but requires some tweeking, when you pass wave 27, the rest should be easy. I thought 27 was harder than the final waves.

@madstheboy Not sure exactly, but I did notice a difference because it worked when I did it, and now the same setup does not work. It's frustrating because I worked long and hard to get that figured out too.

@iliketoeatpie4755 Sorry to hear that man. Unfortunately there was an update so the exact formation, placement, leveling, etc. is no longer sound. I wish they would just leave the game how it was. Anyway the strategy works, you'll just have to tweak it a little. Sorry you had to start over, good luck!

I did exactly what you did and had one monster go through in wave 21, it barely had any life left...

@Javv250 I know, there was an update patch that changed it all. The strategy still works in principle, but the specifics will need to be altered slightly. It may take some time but you'll get it, best of luck!

They've updated the XBLA and PSN versions of Crystal Defenders, I'm not sure about the Ipod version. This update changes the waves ever so slightly, These guides are a very good way to base your attempts off of, but you'll have to fine tune your strategy now. Adding a few more archers and soldiers than finances used did the trick for me. Good luck. :]

Last wave can't be blocked... i followed your guide as a clone (lol), but the second bad guy of last wave just pass, and so the third (cuz got no extra money without defeating 2nd).

Wow, I'd have to say that was entertaining to watch. I haven't done a damage/cost analysis, but it looks like you're getting a decent rate of return on the lower damage level but higher quantity folks.

I'd always took the approach of leveling up as few guys as was necessary, but that was definitely an entertaining approach to say the least.

Right when the wolves came i died, lol. I leveled the soldiers, before they got to the exit, but they still passed. Next time i know to level those soldiers before the wolves come. Thanks great guide though.

I did EXACTLY as you did except that I did my leveling and placement before starting the round where you did it during, and for some reason my gil was much less than yours on the last round. I did my own placement after beating the first two monsters of time mages and soldiers at the end... but the third one still BARELY got through.. I never saved or anything either... gar!!

I know, that was the hardest wave for me! I pause after each setup to show the specific placement, and lvl of each unit, placement and lvling is key to victory. Good luck, and use the 'save' restart option to save time and keep trying it. Let me know.

It took a hybird of your strat, Teaque2's, and my own, but I finally got it! Thanks so very much... 9042 Total points so not as efficient as Teaque2's :) Anyway, with your blessing, I could record my rplay from the point where it starts to differ from yours as a reply to this vid so you can see what got it done. For example, with a little of the extra gil, I made wave 27 a LOT easier. Let me know and thanks again for your encouragement and help!

Thanks!!! Maybe it's a timing thing. My 8:45 is exactly like yours except my Soldier at the bottom of the black mage wall is 1/2 step lower... I do as you do at 9:10 and Carbunkle get's through. I'm abusing a savestate to try again and again... I'll keep at it. Just to be sure, its stop as soon as unicorn falls and place 2 lvl 3 archers and 1 lvl 1 time mage as shown (as far in the upper corner as she will go) and then after Carbunkle, level the solder to 4, place 2 more, & 1 time mage? :)

Also check the comments from Teaque2, that is sheer genius, ended up with more gil than I did, might make all the diff. but you'll have to start from the beginning if you do that. I've followed your guide all the way up to wave 30... Thanks!!! On wave 30, I can't seem to do what you do... If I do as you do, Carbunkle gets through (2nd guy) every time. If I do not set up the time mage as you did and instead set the two last soldiers 1st, I can get Carbunkle. No matter how I do it after that, I NEVER can get Ifrit (last guy). I mean he has no visible life bar left, but still hangs on through the end. Any advice at all? Thanks for posting all of this :)

Well first of all, good job getting past 27!! To me, that's the hardest part. Hmm... I'm not sure, but take a look at 8:45, I pause there for just a moment to show EXACTLY what it should look like, then (it's very subtle) I add two more archers and lvl them up to 3, and one more time mage in the corner. It's RIGHT as soon as I get some more gil, so timing, placement, and lvl play a critical role. I hope this helps. BEST OF LUCK 2 YOU!!

i start the last wave with 969 gil where u start it with 735 but i still lose

at the end of wave 27 i have 874 gil instead of 811 and its all because i dont lvl the soldiers at the top right when u do during wave 21, i leave them at lvl 2 until wave 27, and because of this i manage to have an extra 63 gil. so since i still have more gil even after i lvl up 3 soldiers to lvl 3 at the top right corner i still manage to lose at the last boss even though i can add more units or just lvl up extra units that u dont,,,, but i still lose :(

that lvl where u lvl up your soldiers, i dont do that i just leave them at lvl 2. but at the last lvl i have everything set up exactly as u do and some units during the last one i have the extra gil to put them in early because i did not lvl up soldiers at the hound lvl like u so i earn that extra interest every round but at the last lvl 2 of the bosses manage to make it past. i can kill the first one. i usae the gil to get archers lvl 3 and the time mage at the top right

Oh I totally understand dude. This wave was harder than 30 for me. These guys both resist magic and are FAST. So there's something I did that's hard to see in fast motion. I added one lvl 2 time mage near top left as show at 5:47-5:48, and another in the penisnsula thereafter. these two mages made all the difference. A quick way to restart at the SAME level =) if you need to is SAVE the game once you begin losing crystals, and reload it from the start menu. Hope this helps! Good luck!

You should have used annotations. The black bar gets in the way of being able to see what you doing at the bottom of the screen/map.
