@IsabelaUchiha Kaoru and Lavi's voice actors are not the same. Greg Ayres voices Kaoru and Jason Liebrecht voices Lavi. Jason also voices Syaoran from Tsubasa and Train from Black Cat, if you've seen those. Oh and he's also the Millennium Earl in this show too.

i really do think funimation murdered the english dub of dgm. i honetly would liike allen's english dub voice to be more boyish and sweeter. not that shit they have going on there. they honestly should have done a better job with it. and to tell the truth, and im not lying, after watching the first say 6 minutes of english dub on the dvds, i almost threw up. i was horrified.

That's usually how dubs work. Voice actors doing an anime dub always have to rush in their job to work parts of another anime. And when actors go in a booth, they don't have enough time to examine the character they cast as and work through so many lines with less knowledge of the anime than fans would.

After a while of acting out the lines of their characters, the actors end up more clear with their characters as the episodes go on. Same thing in Inuyasha, Lucky Star and other animes.

And yeah. At the start of each series they are going to sound a bit odd cause at that point they're just acting. But the more they do it and the more they get involved, they're going to embrace their character more. Vic Mignogna does that a lot and he did it in FMA.

the only part of Kanda's dialogue that i like was "i guess its your fate to die" XD it just sounded so Kanda-ish that the horrible voice actor choice was overshadowed for a second.

I really though Funi would come through on this one....but this is HORRIBLE. Everyone's voices are just too high, too loud, and too WRONG. Lenalee should switch with Road. Kanda should switch with tyki, THe Earl makes me wanna kill myself, and so far only Bookman and Komui's voices have been really spot on for me
