What that red text is referring to is the Input Configuration (game controls) found under Edit> Project Settings> Input
There you can add new controls change the names of controls, adjust settings and change the keys to other Input devices (mouse, keyboard, or even joystick/joypad).
And no, you don't have to mess around with any scripts.
