So, finally got around to seeing the new Karate Kid and was really pleased to find out that it was the story all about how Jaden Smith's life got flipped upside down. You see, he was chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool. Shooting some b-ball outside of his school, when a couple of guys (Who were up to no... good) started making trouble in his neighbourhood, He got in one little fight & his mom got scared & said "You're going to learn kung-fu from the maintenance man downstairs"

This is one of my favorite movies of the 80's. Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Randee Heller were just brilliant. Oh and I loved Elisabeth Shue, especially her character. Despite the technology and the sophistication of movies today, the chemistry between the actors and what the original Karate Kid had, was that undeniable innocence and chemistry that Daniel San and Mr Miyagi created, that is something that just can't be emulated. There is a saying 'imitated by many, equalled by none' .......but each to their own.

Yes I agree this will always be a classic but sometimes you have to move with the times. I think it was a great modern telling of the story and Jaden did an outstanding Job. His parants and Jackie chan were deeply involved with the movie and I wish them much success if they do a sequel.
