I have a similar problem. However for me, engine is fine when I'm in P or N mode. but when in R (reverse) or D (drive), it vibrates. RPM seems fine, no misfire or anything and obviously everything is smooth when actually in motion and the RPM is increasing
i have a civic, it started to do that only in reverse, but then it got worse, and that rumble thing was happening in P R N D and i didnt know what it wa, until i changed the motor mount, but it took me like 3 month to do that :D
I have problem with my Toyota corolla 95 too but im not sure if its the motor mount because it shakes when I drive and its worse when I turn on the air condition. The reason i think its not the motor mount is because when I first turn on the car it shakes like crazy and acts like its gonna turn off so i gotta step on the gas peddle to help it out. Any idea what would it may be?
im having the same problem hahaha. im saving up for some good motor mounts. cant wait. the shacking in the car is very annoying and makes my car sound like shit lol
My Focus is doing the same, even when i drive the dashboard shakes and sounds just like that and when i put it in neutral it sounds fine i think i should change it asap
I can't imagine how, after what 50+ years, manufacturers still can't figure out how to build a solid engine mount that will last 12 years or so...every one I've ever seen with an automatic had worn out mounts, usually trans mounts...I don't understand this, there's NO moving parts, it's just a piece of rubber, and still they somehow just fall apart...long before actual COMPLICATED parts do(i.e. transmission)
@yellowmusicfreak rubber breaks down. Nothing on a car or truck is perfect, getting new parts is just a fact of life. You can get poly mounts but they are harder and will cause more shaking and makes for a not so comfortable ride.
yeah it the right front top side motor mount, its got a jelly like substance that dampens the vibration from the motor, change it and the noise/vibration stops.
So we gunna change all the motor mounts???

Uh... what was supposed to happen? Maybe it's the video (or the audio), but I'm really not catching the problem.

@scottgilesmusic listen for the bad vibrating sounds after 0:16

@Cowchode Ah, I hear it now. Dang, MY Focus does that, too!

Sockington, how much did you end up paying?
kinito1 10 months ago
@kinito1 Not much at all.
Give Steve@Tousley Ford a phone call. They charge cost + 10% on all Ford OEM parts. Hard to beat that.
Sockington 10 months ago
$55.00 dollar part. Super easy to replace yourself. everything is right on top. Just need a jack under motor to hold motor up. 5 easy bolts. Done!

Mines doing the exact same thing... it only does that vibrate thing in reverse. did the mounts fix your problem?
bellben 11 months ago
Yup. New mounts sorted out the horrible reverse noise/vibration.

The passenger and the rear mount were both VERY destroyed.
