  • Lawrence is a nutcase. Using his logic we all have to discard the country of our Fathers, the U.S., because it condoned separate but equal until Brown.

  • LAWRENCE IS THE BEST!

    SMART N FUN...

  • Good point at the end. Christianity and mormonism both condone slavery, so on that point there's no difference.

  • O'donnell is such a bully. Does obama believe jonah was in a whale? He's singling out mormons as a crazy religion, when all religions are crazy.

According to O'donnell it seems like all presidents are flawed since we haven't had one that is athiest.

  • Lawrence is right Joseph Smith was a polygamist charlatan.

  • true statements are true

  • @sterline80 And false statements are false. Like when O'Donnell said that Joseph Smith supported slavery. Smith was an abolitionist who ran for President on a platform of freeing the slaves.

  • Now I'm convinced, Lawrence O'Donnell is a complete idiot!

  • @fonseca71 go read the book of mormon there is five or many passages in there that are that are kkk material .

  • @jayhawk88z Yes, like this one, right?

33 For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile. - 2 Ne 26:33

  • God has the right to change His mind anytime He wants.

  • Mormons were anti-black before 1978. Wonder what changed their mind. Disco?

  • Mormons are tools.

  • wow i have a new found adoration of Lawrence <3

  • WAY TO GO O'DONNELL!!!

  • Yep morons are dumb ooops I meant Mormon!

  • @seththezombie samething.

  • Comment removed

  • what an absolute asshole this o'dennell guy is!

  • I don't care for mormons but I do like polygamy, anyone who thinks polygamy should be banned needs to go smell the sand under water

  • WRONG!!!!!!!

  • Geesh, video just cut off when it was getting good.

  • This guy is a complete buffoon. You know that people are incompetent when they won't let the host of the show get a word in. What an idiot.

  • Hey. At least the mormons havn't flown aircraft into our buildings like other religions have....Yup. I just said that.

  • Mor(m)ons.

  • @nickcliche dumbass

  • Ps. Mormons believe, as do all Christians, in the Bibles explanation that blacks are the descendants of Cain who God cursed for killing his brother Abel.

Why aren't all Christian denominations called racist; only Mormons???

  • The LDS Church has never believed in slavery. Blacks have always been able to become members of the church; they were denied the priesthood until 1978. They do not believe nor have they ever taught blacks are those that turned away from Christ in the pre-existence. They do believe those who turned away from Christ in Heaven are never alloyed to come to earth nor ever given a body. People are so ignorant not to get the correct information before they speak on National TV. So many lies are told.

  • @gotyourtongue

I black and have studied and lived with the Mormons....I've been to all the sacred sites---Nauvoo, Palmyra--you name it. I've also read the DC and the BOM several times over.

I also actually do what many Mormons do NOT do--I read Joseph Smith's words itself--as well as the many other leaders and elders theological treatises. You cannot deny that there is a strong racialized component of LDS theology and cosmology. Its right in front of you, if you do the research.

  • @dward2502009 Why all the interest for you? You know more than many members.

One generation ago everyone was highly racist to blacks in America, it wasn't just the Mormons. Someone, and I can't say I am, that has total faith in the Book of Mormon; no doubt at all; I have only met one person that for sure had no doubt at all, not even a smidgen; was a WWII Purple Heart War Hero. I know he was not a racist. What he believed to be incorrect or flawed in the religion were the mistakes of men.

  • @gotyourtongue

Well...I'm a doctoral student in Religious Studies...but I was in college when I lived and studied with them. Despite unfavorable discussions with the family I stayed with, I think the bulk of LDS members are wonderful sincere people, but too many of them blind themselves to verified historical statements made by their leaders which are deeply problematic--particularly the theology.

And you're right; the LDS church does not corner the market on racism--agreed.

  • @dward2502009 haha so what do you know what mormons dont? dont make me laugh at you

  • @gotyourtongue

For starters, check out Joseph Feilding Smith's "The Way to Perfection"--an early, undeniable example of the official church teaching and theology.

  • What a bigot O'Donnell is, how does MSNBC allow a complete bigot have their own TV show?

  • Talking (or should I say, yelling) over someone does not make one's point look credible. The winner of a debate or discussion is NOT the one who speaks the most or the loudest. I used to think O'Reilly was the worst practitioner of of these tactics until I witnessed the tirades of O'Donnell.

What a socialist tool he is...

  • Oh c;mon, this is ridiculous. All religions are a bit crazy or dangerous! The last thing I want to hear in a debate for president is anything to do with religion....it doesn't belong there and thats why you have seperation of church and state. Obama, got into a lot of trouble during his campaign, trying to prove he was christian...all he got was a minister who loved his 5 minutes of fame and has Obama been to church lately? I don't think so and who the fuck cares...but it makes you wonder!

  • O donnel gets off on Romney and Mormons?

  • All you white and delightsome mormorons who answered this question:

What does white and delightsome, spoken in Ye Olde English really mean, anyway?

Your founder was charlatan pedophile scum. FACT. I am proud of O'Donnell.

  • they used to have more female missionaries; that's how I was tricked into mormonism. Went to a few church sermons. but I got the hell outta dodge when I found out that there was a multi-tiered heaven (contradiction, no?) that you had to literally pay for to get into.

I think all religions end up being rackets, but it's like the mormons aren't even making an effort.

  • O'Donnell doesn't care that he is an idiot, it is making him money.

  • O'Donnell, you are so prejudiced and in the pockets of the far left liberals that you would bad mouth Jesus Christ if they told you to. Listening to you is like stepping in horse shit, nothing serious just smelly. You will need to wise up soon and take a look at yourself and what you're doing.

  • i used to be a moron...he isn't lying.

  • fuck religion! this is a political discussion, why the hell are we talking about godish bull shit?!

  • First off this guy has no clue what he is talking about. He plays a character that represents the Community of Christ church, formally the RLDS church. Secondly He is WAY off on the whole racist comment. It had nothing to do with being rejected in heaven, they are just as much children of God than any other race or religion. And he knows very little about Joseph Smith, honestly people you want information about "Mormons" or Latter Day Saints as they are really called, visit Mormon .or

  • @KoreRacer O'Donnell is a hater - and he's wrong. Joseph Smith was an abolitionist. In 1844, he ran for President on a platform that included freeing the slaves.

If he had this rant against any other religion - like, say, the Jews or Muslims, he would have been fired right away. Plus, his indignation is phony. Where was he in condemning Obama's racist, America-hating pastor?

  • @KoreRacer He has some clue of what hes talking about. For 150 years the mormon church taught that blacks were cured and only changed this view in 1978. For political convenience or because they had a "revelation". Which is more likely do you think? As for knowing very little about Joseph Smith? If you read any non-biased source you will see he was a fraudulent individual. Furthermore, if you wish to find more information on the mormon church then you should NOT visit the mormon website. BIASED!

  • If LOD ever met me in Secaucus,he'd be DOA at Meadowlands Hospital.

  • Now we know why he plays a part in Big Love. He hates mormons and wants to discredit them. Wow.

  • Comment removed

  • wow this odnnell oozes hate. fuck that guy

  • Holy Cow! People sure don't know the truth and actual facts of what happened historically. What is the source of his information?

  • O'Donnell--get a clue. Look something up. Keep your nose out of the mud-slinging anti-LDS propaganda while you're at it.

You've clearly been inoculated against the LDS.

    Oh, and grow up, too.

  • @metallicarox80s He did look something up. On Tv, he knew something happened in 1978, but was wrong on exactly what happened. After this rant, he went looking for sources to justify his angry off-the-cuff remarks, and wrote an op ed piece. The fact that he brings up the old "Jesus and Lucifer were brothers" claim demonstrates the nature and credibility of the sources he turned to.

Why apologize for bad behavior when you can make excuses? Any 6-year-old knows that!

  • @WasatchIntercept "Jesus & Lucifer were brothers" brings credibility? HAHA. It's a twisted, pessimistic, exaggerated, & most negative possible way of describing an LDS doctrine...the phrase was coined by propaganda & anti-LDS proponents seeking to inoculate all who will lend ears. It has zero credibility.

  • @metallicarox80s How in the world did you interpret my clearly negative comments about Lawrence O'Donnell and his dubious sources as saying he has credibility?

  • @WasatchIntercept My apologies, I usually receive rebuttals on these video comments. I hastily read through your second paragraph...

  • LOL Lawrence pwnz once again!!!!!! HAHAHA

  • I had a mormon boss who was a cold, calculating evil man. He ruined many careers. He put on a smiling face and family values in the public and many people were fooled by his Jekyll/Hyde routine. He is a terrible, evil person and I urge people not to be taken in about how "nice" mormons are.

  • These are all actors and they are portraying fiction. 88% of you have been fooled.

  • I don't think O'Donnell gives a damn about the immorality of polygamy. He will yell and pontificate because it gives him the perfect excuse to vent what is really behind it, which is his hatred of how religious people are a block to his vision of a humanist utopia. The day I hear him similarly put down Barack Obama's father's practice of polygamy, I will recant this. In academic and PC circles, however, Kenyan polygamy is an entirely protected status and put on the downlow.

  • @FritzOmnibus so no comment on how this evil racist religion wouldn't allow blacks on leadership roles in the church till 1978? I also want to know why these kooks believe the Garden of Eden is in Missouri. hahaha

  • @FritzOmnibus so no comment on how this evil racist religion wouldn't allow blacks on leadership roles in the church till 1978? I also want to know why these kooks believe the Garden of Eden is in Missouri. hahaha

I also want to know why that criminal Joesph Smith wrote the mormon bible in 17th century english when he was from the 19th century.... and why do these morons wear magical underwear? hahaha!!!

  • @indianluvsguitar I don't defend the Mormon Church in ts apparent oddness. I do think that religion, by definition, is usually ill suited to the cultural environment that surrounds it! The older the religion, the more "normal" you think it is. That's an illusion. The earliest Christian sects were persecuted severely and where the "kooks". You may express all kinds of condemnatory things but in politics we have glaring hypocrisies getting amnesty and the groups you dislike get the attack.

  • lol, this is odonnell playing (;- ) devils advocate to get jesus nut racist (for a long time) pat buchanan all riled up.

all christianity was racist in this country at one time, why do you think the founding fathers owned slaves and the kkk burned crosses? and had crosses sewn on their robes?

racism is alive and well in america, it's just become less overt, one need look no further than our war on drugs and prison population.

  • Mormons are some of the nicest irrational people I know

  • Who the hell cares if they believe in that dead jew or not ? We are a secular nation and I don't care what myths these creepy pols subscribe to .

  • Go Lawrence!

  • Lawrence O'Donnell is an idiot. If Romney has to answer for the entire history of the Mormon church, then a Catholic has to answer for the Inquisition and a Baptist has to answer for that faith's role in segregation and racism in the South. It's ridiculous that how some people always apply a set of standards to one group that they don't apply to anyone else. This man's rant is the product of bias, hatred, and ignorance.

  • @spudmustang Exactly! Not to mention everything that come out of O'Donnell's mouth about the LDS church is factually incorrect, he doesn't have enough knowledge to even speak on the matter.

  • @dignan1000 He summed up his knowledge of the Mormon church himself with: "I'm not a Mormon, but I play one on T.V."

  • @spudmustang Well said. It's about politics and demagoguery not principle that's applied equally.

  • @spudmustang I agree, Romney should not have to take responsibility for the past actions of Mormons, and being Mormon does not mean one automatically endorses everything done by Mormons or by the Mormon Church. BUT, he does have to take responsibility for his beliefs. Does he believe the racist Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, despite his racism? Presumably he does, or he would not be a Mormon. So, does he repudiate Smith's racism and racist claims as false or embrace them as gospel?

  • @Silenus6 Prophets are not perfect, omniscient beings who act and think completely independent of their time and culture. They are human beings with a finite understanding of the world and are therefore fallible. People have opinions on a lot of things, but not all of it is essential to our eternal salvation. I don't have to accept Joseph Smith's views on race. All that I have to accept is Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and follow Him. The same goes for Mitt Romney or any other person.

  • @spudmustang I agree, in theory. We are all imperfect lenses. Read my response to mmmtoblerone. But it is one thing to distort revelations and another thing to fabricate them entirely. Also, at a certain point, when the channel of a "prophet" is so pulluted that it corrupts nearly every message coming through him, he ceases to be a prophet. Some are just kooks. Lastly, we have folks who just invent things, sometimes for the well-intentioned purpose of helping, but mostly for wealth and power.

  • @Silenus6 Joseph Smith didn't gain wealth or power by being a prophet. He suffered tremendously and was constantly attacked because of his beliefs. He lost friends and family, was imprisoned for months, and was ultimately murdered by his enemies. No charlatan would endure that type of persecution, and to label him as such is insulting. I don't subscribe to the doctrines taught by the Pope, Buddha, or Muhammad. But I am respectful enough not to simply label them as kooks or confidence men.

  • @Silenus6 Actually, Joseph Smith was not a racist. He ordained African American men to the priesthood. It was Brigham Young, who was a rampant unrepentant racist, who changed that and instituted the priesthood ban. Mormons believe in continuing revelation, so there can be changes from one prophet to another. You don't have to repudiate BY's racism to believe that the ban should have been lifted in 1978. The Mormon religion has a lot of problems, but it is more nuanced than you imply.

  • @mmmtoblerone I understand ongoing revelations. Every time requires those teachings which are appropriate to it. But I also know that even prophets are human, and that prophecy is often mixed with, and corrupted by, the prejudices of the prophet. True revelation transcends the arbitrary prejudices of a given culture at a given time. The Light of God is always the same, but we shape it according to our needs, and often distort it according to our weaknesses and ignorance. Yes, it is very nuanced.

  • @mmmtoblerone An important distinction between JS and BY. . I don't believe Joseph Smith was a prophet, but he definitely got his ass kicked for pretending to be one.

  • @rrhynes pretending to be one? yeah thats just your opinion you are so crooked lol

  • @Silenus6 smith was never a racist as you you claim he was i suggest you get your facts straight before you come in here and look like a big fool!

  • Thank the world for Lawrence O'Donnell

  • @TerryComo2010 Looks like someone is a weak-minded follower...

  • Youtube won't let me post a link, so you can google 'joseph smith 1844 presidential platform' (minus the '') and the second suggestion is the website I referred to in my previous comment.

  • O'Donnell is so sadly uninformed & uneducated on the issue, the below link is to a BBC webpage detailing Joseph Smiths presidential platform-the 6th bulletin down shows that Smith stated from the beginning that he was strongly against slavery and adamantly wanted to abolish slavery as president. The LDS church has never taught that those with darker skin turned their back on God-we believe that ALL men on earth stood firmly with God!

  • Biggest load of bull.

  • O'Donnell's only time he's ever been right!!!

  • Comment removed

  • There are types for the relationship of HEavenly Father and JEsus Christ all throughout the bible...Consider Abraham being asked to sacrifice his 'son'...his ACTUAL son, not a strange version of himself. The entire New Testament, the savior refers to THE FATHER, and HIS Father---He was literally an exmaple of 'honoring' your parents in the 10 commandments.

  • Maybe he went too far here, but O'Donnell WAS right...

  • its no wonder this idiot of one of msnbc's heavyweights....the slow sluggish stupid heavyweight where if you land one solid punch....he goes down like a sac of potatoes.

  • its obvious that odonnell feels like he has to put on an angry face and yell to compensate for the fact that his arguments are weak and just plain ridiculous.

  • pathetic on odonells part....if you think like a normal person you can see that his argument is baseless and weak.... What does ones great grandfather have to do with their character? Notice how when pat bring up slave ownership in his family's past how odonnell just moves on...because his argument was already nullified.

  • So Pat came from slave-owning stock? I can see that.

  • bahahahaha! this just cracks me up! 1) Joseph smith was a good man and was never pro slavery. 2) ANYBODY ANYWHERE ANYTIME could be part of the Lds church. 3) there is no such thing of where people who are black turned away from god in the pre earth life. 4) The LDS church does not practice polygamy. period. we believe it to be wrong.

  • @nerdobirdo11 you are exactly right, he has no clue what he's talking about!

  • how anyone can take pat "my brain is just in my head for decoration" buchannon seriously?

  • Lawrence O'Donnell, is a socialist scum bag. It will probably come out later that he is a pedophile.

  • (part2) as it is, survived years, primarily because people like O'Donnell scream without doing a little fact checking before appearing on national television. The LDS church preached against slavery from day 1 and even took in freed slaves and gave them a food, shelter, acceptance & love. Joseph Smith being so openly anti-slavery was a huge factor in his murder. Sometimes in life you have to look beyond the prevaricating screamers and seek out the factual evidence to learn the truth.

  • @dignan1000 that's a lie. you couldn't be a member of LDS if you were black until 1978.

  • @blackadm It's not a lie. There were thousands and thousands of Black LDS members before 1978. Check the facts out at blackldsDOTcom

  • @blackadm People with all skin colors could ALWAYS be LDS before 1978 & after (there is mounds of evidence of this). However, my comment did not speak about that matter, I commented regarding 2 false statements by O'Donnell, the truth is 1-Joseph Smith was very openly anti slavery, which lead to his murder & 2-LDS church teaches that EVERYONE on earth stood with God-nobody on earth turned their back, there has never-ever has LDS church taught anything different. thx for your comment tho! : )

  • @dignan1000 no. no they couldn't. there are people alive that can attest to this. some fake website doesn't undo the fact that black men were not allowed to be members prior to 1978. and Smith's 3 charges in the Nauvoo Expositor right before his death did not include any slavery commentary.

He was murdered for being a self-appointed prophet who had too much power and abused it by activities such as polygamy. He was murdered for treason and for forced coersion of women into unlawful marriage.

  • (part1) This guy has his facts wrong, it's as simple as that. Nowhere in LDS doctrine, history or from any LDS leader has it been stated or taught that children of God with darker skin turned away from God in the pre-life. The LDS church teaches that some did turn their back on God in the pre-life but they have never come to earth, how could they even have a skin color? That is untrue, that is a lie that was actually made up from an anti-Mormon years ago that has somehow, as unsubstantiated

  • @dignan1000 you are a youtube user, right? look up gordon hinckley, your former president, on blacks and he, himself, confirms that they weren't allowed into the preisthood until 1978. He calls them "little flicks of history" that you aren't supposed to acknowledge or pay attention to. "It's behind us." Not some nameless "anti-mormon" but the Mormon President.

  • @blackadm Sorry it's taken me so long to reply to you! Well I think that we have a simple misunderstanding, the Priesthood is not the same as membership-it is quite different, Membership has never been restricted-you can learn the truth on the website blacklds(dot)org-the website isn't ran by the LDS church-its ran by Af. Am. LDS individuals-they are smart, great people & If you contacted them, I'm sure they would be happy to confirm the websites authenticity. Best of luck to you!

  • @blackadm G Hinkley didn't refer to the people as "flicks of history" he meant that the mistakes are in the past & the church is moving forward to a better future! Your position is certainly understandable but I did want to give link to BBC webpage that details Joseph Smith's presidential platform, 6th bulletin down states he wanted slavery abolished. I can't post a link so google 'joseph smith 1844 presidential platform'-BBC page is the second suggested website. O'Donnell is sadly misinformed.

  • @dignan1000 O'donnell got heated and let his heart speak over his head and he was wrong. But Joeseph smith did not guide LDS church throughout it's existence. Brigham Young was a racist and racism did come into the LDS after Joe. That they didn't correct a major contention until 1978 shows just how invasive racism was. The OT law that says flat-nosed and dwarfs cannot come to the altar is reflected here on who can't be a preist. it is highly offensive to allow membership but not priesthood.

  • O;Donnell is an idiot. Mormonism has ALWAYS been ANTI slavery.

  • Just because you raise your voice doesn't make you right, it just makes you a loud mouth.

  • QUOTE FROM JOSEPH SMITH:“Petition, also, ye goodly inhabitants of the slave states, your legislators to abolish slavery by the year 1850, or now, and save the abolitionist from reproach and ruin, infamy and shame. Pray Congress to pay every man a reasonable price for his slaves out of the surplus revenue arising from the sale of public lands, and from the deduction of pay from the members of Congress. Break off the shackles from the poor black man, and hire him to labor like other human beings;

  • @vegtamvanderveg yeah, good way to get more tithes .... slaves can't pay 10%

  • QUOTE FROM JOSEPH SMITH continued: "Break off the shackles from the poor black man, and hire him to labor like other human beings; for ‘an hour of virtuous liberty on earth, is worth a whole eternity of bondage!’”

JS ran for president on the platform of abolishing slavery, and to avoid a civil war, proposed to repay southerners for the slaves with the sale of public lands.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT O'DONNELL BEFORE YOU GO SPEWING LIES AND HATE!

  • @1pt21jigawatt You must be new. Do you not know about the liberal/ marxist tactics to winning arguments. Defamation, change the subject, twist peoples words, be as unreasonable as possible, do everything to intimidate the other person into losing their composure. They are upside down thinking people. They win through intimidation. Lawrence odonell is a socialist subhuman pig.

  • Hahaha. He's right. Mormonism = mental disorder. But then again, so are ALL organized religions.

  • Big Love is NOT about Mormons. Get it straight you liberal jerk.

  • Shut your mouth you communist scum O'donnell, Obama fools everyone about his religion. He was born and raised as a Muslim. he supports abortion, he supports abortion in such a case where a live baby is accidentally. He gave a speech in Georgetown covering the statue of Jesus Christ. He congratulated Muslims all over the world for their holidays and nothing on Easter, You morons should be ashamed of yourselves.

  • @qw2589 Your tinfoil hat is on backwards.

  • Joseph Smith did not believe, teach, or promote slavery. He was against it, and you can find that in the Mormon Church doctrines. Also, as part as Joseph Smith political platform for the United States Presidency, he devised a plan to free the slaves by selling public lands. Just google it dude!

  • Every thing in O'Donnell's remarks was so off the mark it is disgusting. Blacks could alway be baptized and become members of the Mormon Church. They could not be ordained clergy in the church, until 1978. THERE IS NO church doctrine on why. Only Mormon conspiracy theories on why blacks were not given clergy positions in the Mormon Church. O'Donnell Mormon just spoke of conspiracy theories as if they were true, core, official Mormon Church doctrines.

  • we let the blacks join because of revelation from God, and we believe that people who were against god in heaven never got to come to earth in the first place,

I have nothing against black people and neither do anyother mormons where I live

  • @caucus100 He's an atheist.

  • Yes O'Donnell, guilty by association, you're a genius... (rolls eyes)

Would O'Donnell extend this same logic to suggest that whatever Rev. Wright says is what Obama believes in? Or that if someone is a member of a church that doesn't permit gay marriage, that they automatically believe gays are the eternal manifestation of all evil?

Romney sucks, but attacking him because of his church is just low. It's not like the LDS church is headed by Jim Jones.

  • Lawrence always gets in psycho mad mode when he makes his points even as everyone else is being calm. especially when he literally points like that .. lol wtf...how does he not realize it depreciates whatever he is saying whether right or wrong when he acts like a pist off step dad.

  • Ok so here's the deal: Mormonism is racist as a relgion but Mormon people can be quite good people because one should judge people individually and not based on religion. What he is saying is completely technically accurate. All religion is full of shit.

  • @MusicJew158 (1)Actually you are wrong, every point he makes is 100% incorrect. Facts are facts, history only happened one way and the evidence clearly shows that Joseph Smith was very openly anti-slavery, google "joseph Smith 1844 presidential platform", the 2nd link is to a BBC page which outlines JS plan to give all slaves 2 choices-either 1)an expense paid trip back to their homeland or 2)a paid position working for their "owners" (I hate using that term since no one can own another man)

  • @MusicJew158 (2) JS also states that the Africans are our brothers & sisters and we need to treat them as children of God. His anti-slavery views are the biggest factor in his murder. Also all LDS church historical documents (everything written by any leader of the LDS church) has stated that everyone on earth stood next to God & never turned their back to him. There is however much paperwork that leads back to person who created that lie. LDS members are taught to love everyone and we do!

  • damn odonnell is fucking fat

  • Joseph Smith created a cult and the Bible WARNED Christian that false prophets would distort the Word of God. The last line of Revelation warns of adding to or taking away from the Bible but that is exactly what Smith did when he wrote the Book of Mormon in a highly suspicios way.

  • @exenrontexas It says the same thing in Deuteronomy 4, so should we discard the rest of the Bible and entire New Testament? Why wouldn't God have a Moses or Abraham in our day?

  • @exenrontexas People have been distorting the buy bull from the beginning, particularly "christians". Did you know that there were originally 633 gospels? It was church politics that resulted in the canon we have today. It's been changed, translated and edited countless times. It's all a bunch of superstition, hearsay and shit. People don't even know the history of it or why they believe what they do. It's all for emotional reasons. And we have NO eyewitness accounts of Jesus life.

  • @richwfd2002 Christians rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance on many things including accurate, reliable translations and the culling out of inaccurate gospels. That is not superstition or hearsay or shit. Most Christians know what the Spirit tells them. NOT the spirit talking to Joseph Smith. The book of Mormon contradicts the rest of the Bible. Also there are no witnesses to Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, Genghis Kahn or any other ancient person. Christianity is faith.

  • @exenrontexas "Faith" is an inherently dishonest position and a misnomer. A more accurate definition is: 1) Fear-inspired willful ignorance. 2) Emotional attachment to belief without evidence or in the face of evidence to the contrary. I don't necessarily have a problem if people want to live that way. Just don't try to insert it into our government, expect others to believe using emotional blackmail and threats of hell or try to legislate your phony brand of "morality".

  • @exenrontexas And it IS hearsay. In fact it's hearsay from hearsay. The gospels were written anonymously in the 3rd person and the church added the names in later. "Mark", the earliest, wasn't authored unto around 70 AD. The writers never even met Jesus, nor did Paul, and the original manuscripts have not been found. All we have are translations of translations and copies of copies etc. This wouldn't be admissible in most courts of law.

  • @exenrontexas And no historians during that time even mention Jesus. Josephus and the others were born after the supposed crucifixion.

  • @richwfd2002 ALL the Apostles were historians. It was their job to witness and testify to the Gospel of Jesus. Have you ever read the Bible? I suppose that you feel that the billion plus Christians are just mislead? House about the hundreds of thousands of learned men and women? All deceived?

Suggested reading by C.S. Lewis, "Mere Christianity" and to give you equal time, "Screwtape Letters"

  • @exenrontexas Of course I've read the buy bull. I've also read many books from scholars who have spent their entire careers studying this stuff. I tend to believe them more than I believe the "billions plus Christians", who have an emotional interest in affirming truth based on hearsay, like CS Lewis and most of the billions you mentioned. We "atheists" base our "morality" on the Golden Rule, originally coined by confucius(500 BC), not on fear of punishment, which only cheapens it.

  • @exenrontexas I have read "Mere Christianity", but will look into "Screwtape..". Here's one for you, if you haven't already read it: "Misquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman.

  • It could have been "father" Abraham, father Isaac or Jacob. Take your pick.

  • "he looks it"? your gaydar on? takes one to know one, rubberneck.

odonnell is awesome! calls it like he sees it.

  • Larry is gay. He looks it and is.

  • @MaggotsFng: you are a complete Moron. And a tool. And on and on. Wear your 3rd-grade diploma with pride, dude.

  • @Jewbear1985 He's completely right. In fact, he stopped short. "Demented, Scientology like" is a very apt description of Mormonism. It combines racism & polygamy with Sciento-esque UFO cult aspects wrapped into a doctrine that calls itself "Christian" but is in fact Satanic & you'll find no temple bearing the cross but each one emblazoned with pentagrams. It's a deceptive, demented cult at its core, & its members have slit the throats of apostates in accordance with Masonic extremism. Fuck them.

  • @MagnetsFucking I am Lds and I can safely tell you that I have never slit any throats. I can tell that you like to be right, but you are wrong in this situation. If you would like to become more knowledgeable in the areas of mormonism and be correct with how you view things then you may visit mormon.org there they can answer questions for you(: and if you would like to hear more about the LDS church Im sure there is LDS person somewhere near you and you can ask them questions about our church(:

  • @nerdobirdo11 "Have" past-tense. I'm not talking about current practices. I know that they've recently toned down the violent oaths about disembowelment & slitting throats to be more palatable. What I'm talking about is what they used to do back when the federal government didn't have such control & "Destroying Angels" would force members to atone for transgressions with their own blood.

  • Wrong as usual O'donnel. The Mormon church received its greatest persecutions because they tried to help freed slaves and non-slave africans enter the state of Missouri, which at the time was still a part of the south and the non-mormon residents had morgages on their slaves. So they couldn't afford to let a church that had free black people come in and do well financially and found a town that could be a haven for runaways. Guess it's too much to ask for you to do some research Odonnel.

  • @soulsammytube: Wrong. The Mormon church faced its biggest persecution the day it was conceived through Joseph Smith's "visions" (whatever happened to omnipotency, anyway?) The FACT of the matter remains that MORMONISM ADVOCATES HATRED, CRUELTY, AND RACISM. It is the same as Christians, or rather "pick and choose Christians). There are NO Christians that follow the Bible word for word (e.g., disobedient children should be stoned to death). You either follow word for word, or NOT.

  • spot on odonnell

  • @Bluelincolnpark Spot on??? This guy is a complete idiot! He knows nothing of the Mormon church and what we (yes I am a proud member of the church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter day saints) believe in Just because your forefathers believed one way does not make it right. some of my ancestors were murderers and I don't believe in murder at all! I believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holly Ghost. Three separate beings in matter, but one in purpose!

  • Respond to this video... go to Mormon .org and see what we believe for yourself.

  • @anteracmacash: everywhere slavery is recomended

  • christianity condemned slavery ??obveously this little turd never read the bible

  • This guy is angry and doesn't have all his facts straight. He knows as much about mormons as George Clooney knows about being an ER doc. Playing one on TV doesn't cut it.

  • i like how people like to rate religions for how far out in left field they are. Mormonism is no more INSANE then Baptists, Islam, and Catholicism.

  • @grahamgrider Lol, no kidding. Every religion is irrational.

  • MORMONISM IS A SATANIC ORGANIZATION NOT A RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATION. I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY WHEN I USE TO BE A MEMBER.

  • well done Lawrence, absolutely right on every point

  • Once again, Larry O'Donnell displays his ignorance while thinking he's informed.

Joseph Smith was not for slavery. Look it up. When he ran for President in 1844, part of his platform was to abolish slavery.

Larry is a sad, angry man.

  • Lawrence O'Donnell ringing the race issue again, again and again. What about Anglo-saxons denying slaves and freed slaves to worship in their churches. God bless the black man for loving God in a unloving world. The increase of Catholic converts in Africa ain't to shabby either. There is where their populations will flourish and survive--they won't be aborting their babies or using contraceptives. IN America 53% of all African-American pregnancies end in abortion. I'm just saying.

  • man geeze no love anywere on this you tube sht . come together . this is why i think weed should be legal these people are to radical for society
