This song is so scriptural and clear...the Type of Gospel praise songs I enjoy...John 3:16-18, John10:7 (The Door), John 14:16, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:21, 1st John 2:23 & 5:11
RIP Rev. Wright...for that person who don't like this song, I can't judge you because I would be pointing fingers back @ myself. I PRAY that you would get yourself together before the time comes and make it right with God. We have to get ourselves right to walk through that door!!
There is too much division in the body of Christ, especially when it comes to the gifts. It is the Holy Spirit that will guide us into all truth. The one thing we should not be doing is arguing, but agreeing with God. Study to show thine self approved by God (2 Tim 2:15). Be like the Bareans and search the scriptures daily.
Jesus puts it this way these SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW " THEM " THAT BELIEVE, who is " THEM " that believes ? THEM refers to all them that say and confess to believe.
Now Paul says to ONE is given this gift and to another this gift, do all receive this gift of that gift ? Clearly Jesus and Paul are not contradicting each other, they are speaking of two different things.
Jesus sign of speaking in tongues is for all them that believe, Paul gifts of the spirit is not for all. Two different things
To whom it may concern, I am here to set the records straight and tell the truth about God's word. You may not except it but you can't stand against truth no matter how hard you try. I am a prophet of God and I speak truth. If any among you can still fight and make war with your words I welcome ALL COMERS for the bible says in Jude verse 3 "earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saint". am a warrior in the word and a contender of the truth
@carnivaltriumph86 you quoted 1 Corinthians12:3 saying that that was your evidence then I have to tell you that you have that all twisted and I will try and straighten you out. That scripture simply means that no man can say Jesus Christ and God are one in the same but by the Holy Ghost, which means that they are one in the same.If you don't understand that then you must not have the Holy Ghost because that scripture says that you need the Holy Ghost to understand it.
@sunshamal It's clear that you're very convinced about what you're saying so there's no point to continuing a back-and-forth. I CERTAINLY am not gonna disrespect you, talk down to you as if you're a child or question your salvation, even though that seems to be the way things are being done here. I will simply remind you to go back and re-read about the fruits of the Spirit so that you can check your words and your tone against the bible's standard. I will also pray for you as I hope you will me

@Mzbeautifullymade1 you say that the Apostles spoke in tongues on the day of Pentecost only because they were ministering to the ppl of that time as a means to minister but answer me this why did Cornelius speak as well when Peter was ministering to him? If you notice, he spoke only after the Holy Ghost had fallen on him same as the Apostles and all that were in the upper room like Mary the mother of Jesus
@carnivaltriumph and mattjones010 I will repeat my question and answer if you can, show me in the bible where someone got saved by just confessing with there mouth and believing with there heart.Where in the bible did someone actually get baptized in the name of the father and the son and the holyghost
In the same chapter Paul really hammers the point home when he asks in vv. 29-31, "Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? Now eagerly desire the greater gifts." Clearly the answer to every one of these questions is no.
Not every believer are given these gifts. They are just that, gifts freely given by God to those who are already saved BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH, not by Apostolic baptism.
@carnivaltriumph86 What you are saying is not correct. Paul is speaking of spiritual gifts which every saved person may not received. But every sinner who receives the Holy Spirit will speak in tongues, this not one of the gifts listed in 1cor.12:8-10. This is the sign from God that one has recieved salvation by receiving the Holy Spirit. Acts.2:4.
Most people do not understand there is a difference between the SIGN of speaking in other tongues Acts.2;4 and the gifts listed in 1cor.12:8-10
1 Corinthians 12:3 tells us that "no one can declare that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit." Right there we see that confession of Jesus Christ and not tongues is ecidence of the Holy Spirit. The same chapter goes on to say in verse 7, "to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given." Vv. 6-10 give different ways that different people manifest the Holy Spirit saying, "To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom... to another speaking in different kinds of tongues."
As far as speaking in tounges Paul explains that in 1 Corintians 14:26-28 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
@bishopmorris1019 as far as baptism, look up Acts 19:15 it says that they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus(Jesus name baptism), it also says it in Acts 8:16 "they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus". When Jesus "in the name of the Father Son and Holy Ghost", He was saying in the name, of which is Jesus. I challenge you to find me a scripture saying that some one was baptized by saying any thing other than"in the name of the Lord Jesus" or in Jesus name, and I will follow you.
Well what about The Great Commission in Matthew 28:16-21
16Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
@bishopmorris1019 it also says in Acts chapter 19 verses 16 that Paul laid hands on them and the Holy Ghost came on them and they began to speak with tongues. You see there is a gift of tongues which is given to some ppl but speaking in tongues is also the way that they knew then and we know now that you have the Holy Ghost. It was even prophesied that God would do it this way in Isaiah 28:11 "with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to His ppl".
@bishopmorris1019 it does say how ever, that in the book of acts chapter 10 verses 44 through 46 that when Peter was preaching to the ppl that they received the Holy Ghost and how did Peter know? because it said that they heard them speak with other tongues and magnify God that is your evidence right there. So they were confessing and glorifying God just not in the way you interpreted it. Do you understand?
@bishopmorris1019 it doesnt say any where that they were all filled with the Holy Ghost by confessing with their mouth that they believed God. It said they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues. Romans is written to the church not for the sinners.People can interpret scripture wrong such as you have but you cant interpret actions wrong, where in the bible does it say that they did that to be saved?..........
@bishoprmorris 1019 how can that that is bad theology when the bible says it? When Peter said that in Acts 2:38 he was talking to those who said "men and brethren what must we do?" meaning he was talking to sinners. In the book of Romans Paul was writing to a church not sinners meaning he was writing to those who were already saved. Show me in the bible where some one just said they confess in their heart etc. and got saved.....it's not there
@sunshamal, i am in disagreement with you! That is bad theology! The requirements to come in at the door are not listed in Acts 2:38 or Acts 2:4, they are found in the Book of Romans 10:9 that one must confess and believe! That happens to be the only requirement to make it in, and that is one must be SAVED! Tongues are a gift that everyone does not have! It is possible to be baptized in the Holy Ghost and not not speak with tongues. Believe it or not there is more than 1 evidence of Holy Ghost!
@bishoprmorris1019 and @sunshamal, I am in disagreement w/ both of you but I am no bible scholar. In Acts where it speaks of them speaking in tongues, it was on the day of Pentacost and research of the area and time tells you that they were in a market district w/ many ppl who spoke different languages and the only way for them to minister to those ppl was to speak in their native tongue. The Holy Ghost manifested itself such that the disciples were able to speak the languages of those present.
@sunshamal Yes sir or ma'am, I do disagree. I agree with bishoprmorris1019, the requirements for making it into the door are given in Romans 10, not in Acts 2:38. In Matthew 28 Jesus Himself gives direction on how to baptize and Jesus' formula was held to faithfully for nearly 2000 years before modern groups started to change it because of their misreading of the book of Acts. "In the name of the Lord Jesus " in Acts means in the authority/power of Jesus.
If you havent been baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost by evidence of speaking in tongues according to Acts2:4, and Acts2:38 you havent come in at the door
If you Havent been baptized in Jesus name and filled with the holyghost by evidence of speaking in tongues according to Acts2:38 and Acts 2:4 you wont come in at the door.
@sunshamal So true, a lot of people in churches do not believe this, they falsely think they are saved by saying a so called unscriptural sinners prayer, they don;t realize when they finish this little recital they are still not saved. There is nowhere in the bible where anyone told a sinner to repeat these words after me and your saved, that is nothing but a lie from satan himself. One must received the Holy Spirit to be saved. Acts.2:4, Acts.2:38.
At one moment I was really sad but I started to realize that everyone of us have a appointed time for death and I believe this is Gods way of saying that his work here on earth is done.
Rest on Rev. Timothy we may miss you down here but you will never be forgotten!!!!! He is leaving this present world of pain and sorrow to go to a place that willl welcome him in with loving arms and thats heaven.
Rest in peace Rev. Wright and I know they are having a shouting good time in heaven.
