U can fish a swim jig even if its not sunny....just sayin but kvd doesnt believe that bass "dont like the sun and hide in the shade" bc on sunny days they can be on open water flats i kinda believe 50/50 but nice vid just acouple info things could be fixed
That statement was meant for when you are fishing deeper docks, to allow the bait to fall on slack line and not swing back to the boat. But good catch!
Great videos and everything but you say not to ingage your reel when you first cast and it hits the water, but then the next cast, you do the exact oppisite. haha- 1:49
Fish can be shallow 12 months out of the year. Anytime fish are relating to docks and the shaded areas around them you can catch them by skipping the OMEGA Jig.
we have a segment dedicated to it on the new dvd. But what I do is set the reel on 8 and set the bait so that it falls slowly. The major key after that is only filling the spool 3/4 full. That will help the backlashing/overruns tremendously. If you check out the DVD we also show a little trick with the lifting of the rod @ the end of the skip.
i have a question todd on your zillion reel how do you set your lure brake is it set tight or loose also what number do you set the spool brake on the side i have the same combo as shown in this video but i havent perfected my skipping technique still getting a few backlashes here and there any advice on thumbing the spool as you cast?
@omegacustomtackle thanks and i have a tournament on july 30th in north dakota and the lakes forage is perch and crawfish what do u think i should use
@bryanz71 Just depends on water color where your @. Right now it is pretty stained from Tan-Tara up and the Texas craw, Blk-Blu seem to be working well. The lower end of the lake I like the Watermelon red on sunny days and the Chobee on cloudy days.
@bassmassterchamp3 We designed the jig on Lake Ozarks specifically for skipping under docks. It is a system of line, rod, reel, and most importantly the jig. It skips and slides on the surface w/ a little practice. We will have a new DVD out @ the 1st of the year and will be teaching the technique.
what colors do u prefer for all the seasons

I drag it , pop it, hop it, swim it, jerk it, stroke it etc... It just depends on the conditions and what the fish are wanting that particular day.
