The drum beat is on tempo, as in its not slower or faster than the melody. You can figure that out just by simply tapping your foot or if you want to get technical use a metronome. The snare and bass fall on the same beat every time if you compare it to the melody section. Just because its not what you're used to doesn't mean its off.
