Very creepy. Story was only spoilt for me because if the dad was so concerned about her going down to the cellar, he would have just gone home. You wouldn't put your child through something you knew was going to scare them senseless.

But it was still original and I have to admit I didn't guess the ending.

Having moved very recently into our new house, my mother took a box from the car and told me to put it in the basement. I took the box and headed to the basement door. Well, there was a door. But there was no basement. LOL just kidding XD i guess i just wanted to say "wow this story's awesome o_o"

There was a story by Marghanita Laski called "The Tower" which has a similar plot. The woman in the story climbs to the top of a tower, counting the steps as she goes. When she starts down again, she counts to the bottom...and keeps counting...worth checking out, if you haven't read it.

Wasn't scary but I dont get the ending at all she is frozen at 9 then she makes 10 and then she was supposed to open the powerbox. My guess is:

1. She was possessed.

2. She was dead and went threw the walls.

3. A different room???
