@Emmanuel1298 You can't avoid civilian killing when the enemies hides in civilized areas. It doesn't mean you have to kill civilians but its avoidable if you try to take out an enemy who's to chicken to fight in the open.

i played this game, i rented it so i didnt loose $65 i say loose because this game sucked. their is one mission where you have no air support what so ever and its you and 11 other guys to hold off 300+ chinese attacking you. its fucking impossible and you need to leave the shooter games to CoD. @MUtdChannel I was stock in a mission that I did about 30 times, the one retreating, at the 4th barrier. It was horrible. No now I start to like it
but I don't like the pointers, these take away too much space, maybe it depends also on the screen, I play with a 1024x768 projector... Then in one mission I made the whole experience with the machine gun, the one with 200 ammos, without pointer, gives the best overwiew :-) Rocks.
I play with machine gun and m16, but want the grenade thrower on m16..

We have laser guided explosives i.e. JDAMS and Tomahawk Missles, High Energy Lasers equipped on battleships which can destory sea-faring vessles, Stealth helicopters which can operate inside ones country without having the slightest clue (Islamibad, 2011). Nothing has unlimited health, that would be ridiculous, however we have super-carriers which can sail around the world infinitely. Ultimately I find your lack of knowledge annoying.

@No603Scope I know what you're saying, but from my experience, OF is fairly realistic. The soldiers aren't as daring and bulletproof as in some other games. Health regen in OF only comes with medkits, and the enemies can shoot pretty well (though, they aren't amazingly great). That, and while America seems to have superior weapons in game, this is actually the case. So, I guess I'm sticking up for OF a little by saying it's always (to me) stood out from the pack as a little more down-to-earth.

Also Most middle eastern MILITIA (untrained civilians in combat) don't know how to use a gun properly. About the regen health, i thought it was like Dragon Rising when every shot was fatal. You have to patch yourself up most of the time or you would' ve bled out.
This game ive been playing through for a couple of day. In my opinion its awful. The graphics suck straight from the start. The physics of controlling your squad are hard to control and its very hard to monitor your team in what they do. The game physics suck and the shooting is terrible. You find yourself in a lot of talking that is not necessary for the game which you cant skip and you zone out and end up staring around your room. Not recommend at all.
Yeah, this game is terrible. Graphics is not important - it's the gameplay in my opinion - but the gameplay in red river is terrible. A lot of swearing, long convoy rides, extremely stupid AI, scripted missions, no freeroaming aspects (its more like a expanded tunnelshooter), no map editor, no SDK, no drivable tanks, apc, or aircraft, no multiplayer.. the game has no replay-value, and it feels unfinished. It's worse than dragon rising.

Red River isn’t about realism. That’s why Codemaster’s added , perks, sticky AIM, scripted levels, and dumbed down AI. The games goal was Iauthenticity and to attract the mainstream audience ála cod players.
Since Codemaster’s themself said that those games are sequels to the orginal flashpoint most people want it more like the orginal and not like a cod-ripoff. But even if it wasn't called flashpoint, It’s simply not a good game and that’s why it sold so bad.

Almost the whole community at Red River’s official forums complain about the game and aswell how incredibly bad Codemaster’s are treating them. The sales for Red River looks terrible. There is only a few inviduals that actually likes the game, but in overall, the game didn’t appeal to neither the Flashpoint community OR the mainstream. All this points to that the game didn’t deliver and that it failed in both direction. If it was a good game people would buy it.

There aren’t many games that have been bashed so much as red river, and there aren’t many games that have sold so bad. The reason for this is not ''haters''. It’s because the majority simply don’t like the game. Explaining bad sales and say its because of 'haters' is ignorant.
DR sold roughly 877,837 copies (xbox360). RR sold 141,001 copies (xbox360).

The sales have dropped dramatically; Dragon Rising sold 877,837 copies (xbox360) while RED RIVER sold 141,000 copies to xbox360. Codemaster’s CEO Rod Cousens have stated that they’ll need to sell about one million copies in order to gain money that’s worth it.
Ps3 have currently sold 129,523 units. I have no information about the PC units, but It’s definily a lot lower than 100,000 copies due to the illegal copies of the game that floods the PC world. The sold units will slowly keep on getting higher but it will never reach enough copies. Considering the fact that the prize for Red River have dropped dramaticly makes the few more units sold less more worth aswell.

i played this game, i rented it so i didnt loose $65 i say loose because this game sucked. their is one mission where you have no air support what so ever and its you and 11 other guys to hold off 300+ chinese attacking you. its fucking impossible and you need to leave the shooter games to CoD. Its not a good game if you want to play it rent it dont buy it. its not worth the money or the frustration as you play

@MUtdChannel I was stock in a mission that I did about 30 times, the one retreating, at the 4th barrier. It was horrible. No now I start to like it
but I don't like the pointers, these take away too much space, maybe it depends also on the screen, I play with a 1024x768 projector... Then in one mission I made the whole experience with the machine gun, the one with 200 ammos, without pointer, gives the best overwiew :-) Rocks.
I play with machine gun and m16, but want the grenade thrower on m16..

We have laser guided explosives i.e. JDAMS and Tomahawk Missles, High Energy Lasers equipped on battleships which can destory sea-faring vessles, Stealth helicopters which can operate inside ones country without having the slightest clue (Islamibad, 2011). Nothing has unlimited health, that would be ridiculous, however we have super-carriers which can sail around the world infinitely. Ultimately I find your lack of knowledge annoying.

@No603Scope I know what you're saying, but from my experience, OF is fairly realistic. The soldiers aren't as daring and bulletproof as in some other games. Health regen in OF only comes with medkits, and the enemies can shoot pretty well (though, they aren't amazingly great). That, and while America seems to have superior weapons in game, this is actually the case. So, I guess I'm sticking up for OF a little by saying it's always (to me) stood out from the pack as a little more down-to-earth.

ya I agree on OF being a quite decent game in aspect of realism (I own the previous title on xbox) but it was rushed and so was this one. Again, came concept is good but the product is not.
Why not make a game with fictional nations? This would make many happy! I for one am Russian and not the biggest fan of some missions in Call of Duty and even Battlefield

That's why I hardly ever comment on videos. :( But I think fictional nations would be a great idea (kind of like the backstory for Gears of War?) It would create a level playing field and not run the risk of racial conflict. That and the real world gets a bit boring sometimes! And, while I stick up for OF, the game still annoyed the hell out of me with its difficulty hahaha!

Also Most middle eastern MILITIA (untrained civilians in combat) don't know how to use a gun properly. About the regen health, i thought it was like Dragon Rising when every shot was fatal. You have to patch yourself up most of the time or you would' ve bled out.

This game ive been playing through for a couple of day. In my opinion its awful. The graphics suck straight from the start. The physics of controlling your squad are hard to control and its very hard to monitor your team in what they do. The game physics suck and the shooting is terrible. You find yourself in a lot of talking that is not necessary for the game which you cant skip and you zone out and end up staring around your room. Not recommend at all.

Yeah, this game is terrible. Graphics is not important - it's the gameplay in my opinion - but the gameplay in red river is terrible. A lot of swearing, long convoy rides, extremely stupid AI, scripted missions, no freeroaming aspects (its more like a expanded tunnelshooter), no map editor, no SDK, no drivable tanks, apc, or aircraft, no multiplayer.. the game has no replay-value, and it feels unfinished. It's worse than dragon rising.
Save your money people.

Red River isn’t about realism. That’s why Codemaster’s added , perks, sticky AIM, scripted levels, and dumbed down AI. The games goal was Iauthenticity and to attract the mainstream audience ála cod players.
Since Codemaster’s themself said that those games are sequels to the orginal flashpoint most people want it more like the orginal and not like a cod-ripoff. But even if it wasn't called flashpoint, It’s simply not a good game and that’s why it sold so bad.

But yeah, It’s kinda sad that Codemaster’s turned the 2001 Game Of The Year ''Operation Flashpoint: Cold war crisis'' into a pile of rubbish. The whole brands repuptation have gone to hell. It was only ten guys that developed the first and orginal game and they did it with passion CM doesnt have.

Almost the whole community at Red River’s official forums complain about the game and aswell how incredibly bad Codemaster’s are treating them. The sales for Red River looks terrible. There is only a few inviduals that actually likes the game, but in overall, the game didn’t appeal to neither the Flashpoint community OR the mainstream. All this points to that the game didn’t deliver and that it failed in both direction. If it was a good game people would buy it.

There aren’t many forums where 90% of the community complain about the game which is the case for the red river forums. There aren’t many games that have been bashed so much as red river, and there aren’t many games that have sold so bad. The reason for this is not ''haters''. It’s because the majority simply don’t like the game. Explaining bad sales and say its because of 'haters' is ignorant.
DR sold roughly 877,837 copies (xbox360). RR sold 141,001 copies (xbox360).

Roughly 90% at Red River’s official forums complain about both Red River and Codemasters. Only a few stubborn inviduals accept the game for the rubbish it is. The sales have dropped dramatically; Dragon Rising sold 877,837 copies (xbox360) while RED RIVER sold 141,000 copies to xbox360. Codemaster’s CEO Rod Cousens have stated that they’ll need to sell about one million copies in order to gain money that’s worth it.

Ps3 have currently sold 129,523 units. I have no information about the PC units, but It’s definily a lot lower than 100,000 copies due to the illegal copies of the game that floods the PC world. The sold units will slowly keep on getting higher but it will never reach enough copies. Considering the fact that the prize for Red River have dropped dramaticly makes the few more units sold less more worth aswell.
Codemaster's ''OFP'' series is most likely (and hopefully) dead.

This game is a heap of rubbish, exactly like Dragon Rising. Codemaster's have made this series into a piece of shit. They should stick to developing racing games and stop ruining a great game like Operation Flashpoint.
It loogs ugly, the gameplay is completely fucked up with aim assist, dumb AI, poor and scripted mission design, no multiplayer, no SDK, no drivable tanks, apc, aircraft, boats and it lacks in realism.
This game shouldn't be called Operation Flashpoint.
