  • funny, I know well about making sounds on massive but the way you explained everything made me look at it in a clearer way :)

  • Cool intro song!

  • Can someone tell me why I have to reopen the massive files everytime I open up my project? Also, when my project is open for too long, those files wont do the sound anymore and I have to reopen my project. Any help would be great!

  • @MaitreLAO are you on the demo version?

  • @AudeoMusic yes, I,m using the demo version of Massive, would that be the cause of this matter?

  • I should give you some of my presets to play around with. You seem like a legit person who know's what he's doing :)

  • Tornado Twins, Has Anyone Signed You Yet? :)

  • @aaronmyrie Unless some huge label knocks on our door, we self-publish. ^E

  • Fuck all this computer shit, we're all better off buying sound boards and synths and everything else and plugging them into each other and experimenting the RIGHT way.

  • @BruceJBCpaintball Same applies to your sound board and synths. You should buy real instruments and make real music. No, build your own instruments. Skin a goat and make the drums yourself, the right way.

  • @natlang1 I would go and skin a goat, but I already have since I was a kid because I'm Native American. It helps to put them in an oven for a little while so the skin gets to a good consistency and you get a better tone out of your drum ;)

  • @BruceJBCpaintball I meant to say Deer and Moose xD

  • ok skip all

  • a little bit too much beginner for me, but you're right people thats make tutorials are really not explaining a lot !! keep going

  • in how long time you've been working on music? :D

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • oooh so many massives in that project :D its "using massive" not "using THE massive" :P

  • I learnt Nothing...

  • what do you press @ 5:26?

  • there is no operator help

  • @ProGameingNetwork probaly you've a lite ableton version...

  • @xxXm0nst3rXxx97 you must to have ableton suite...i think...

  • dude are you ren from ren and stimpy?

  • Check out the Arctic Warmth synth on Massive. It is very chill and is great for Liquid Drum and Bass or Dubstep.

  • The saw wave sounds like someone farting! lol

  • If you catch a fish for somone they have fish for a day. If you teach them how to fish, they have fish for life! Other tutorials give us fish, Tornado Twins teach us how to fish!

  • I Have This Plugged Into My PA System and I Still Cant Here The Sub Wave Forms?

  • there is no operator, :( what can i use instead

  • For those using Bellus Blingus instead of Baby Babys... Change to BellClarinet it sounds 100x better :)

  • what do you press to hear the current setup , like at this point 05:33 please answere!

  • or i can use the sequencer from ableton to control massive in a patter sorta like drum beats

  • HELP! do i have to have operator to use massive in ableton?!?

  • Any advice, I open up massive in ableton, but when I start to work with the oscillator I get no sound. Not sure why even when I am playing the track

  • These tutorials are amazing! I am following along completely and I have never used Ableton before. I searched for a while and couldn't find anything of this quality! Thank you very much!

  • You have a lisp?! haha nice tutorials. Other videos didnt go into as much detail as you guys do!

    _____________

I have just posted some super Text FX!

  • Nevermind i figured it out

  • @Torndaotwins I cant open the operator. I drag it over the midi track and the box at the bottom and it just shows the little crossed circle. P.S. im running windows 7

  • @acmdubz How did you get it to work because the same thing is happening with me. PLZ HELP

  • love the tutorials - congrats on the no dislikes (untill some troll finds this video)

  • I have a question how to i play what i made?

  • hey is it possible to create almost the same sounds without using massive?

  • @alex12dude Hey dude I ran into the same problem but I downloaded bit-torrent and they have the full massive on there

  • when your explaining the operator, your pressing a button on your keyboard to sample the sound, but every button i press on my keyboard gives me the same low pitch sound. do you mind explaining this? i can hear it on your video but not in my ableton

  • random question, how do i program my computer keyboard to play the lower octaves rather than having it stuck in the same middle octave?

  • @jehrad0 press x for higher octave and z for lower ;)

  • Seriously, not a stone left unturned, and it is really helpful for someone who is new with these programs. I've been using fl studio for a year, but the best videos I even found for that are nowhere near as good as these. Thank you guys so much!

  • Dude... I've watched all seven videos so far, and I just need to say... You guys are the best. No one else has explained nearly as clearly as you have. You explain what frequency and reverb are and the implications of how they are used in writing music, You explained what not ranges are appropriate for certain instruments. You have explained how to really use the plug ins...

  • Why dosent operator show up for me in ableton, its it the instruments folder in library on the desktop but not in ableton help?

  • these tutorials are amazing

  • cant help but laugh every time he say thee massive, great vids man

  • What file are you using for "Untitled Sound" in massive?

  • Why does listening to the sub-bass I created make me feel nauseous?

  • Use keys Z or X to go octave lower or higher on keyboard

  • how do i get sub bass in massive mine is high? please help everyone is commenting the same thing

  • i get a high tone in massive not a bass tone ? help ?

  • @IanGracia SAME. SOMEONE HELP US lol

  • @Thedigitalsupernova Either play the notes further down the keyboard (E0, not E4), or drag the number by the top corner in your Oscillator in Massive down to -12 or -24 for lower octaves.

Also, what DrGr33nthum13 said: If you press the 'z' key on your keyboard it will lower which octave you are playing (on pc's keyboard), which'll work.

Think about it; if your note is making too high of a pitch, play it lower. If your keyboards pitch won't go lower; just put notes in pianoroll on lower octave

  • you are my hero!

  • when I play notes in massive after @6:12 I still get a synth sound and not a sub bass sound? Help....

  • EVERYONE THATS HAVING TOUBLE... YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD A MUCH EARLIER VERSION OF MASSIVE (PREF. PIRATED - YES I KNOW NOT LEGAL) FOR THE .KSD FILES TO WORK. LIKE THIS SO OTHER PEOPLE CAN SEE!!!!

  • @Bazzzzzaaaaaa what version

  • @Bazzzzzaaaaaa and were can i get it

  • i wish somebody would do a good tutorial for the korg electribe emx and esx

  • @TornadoTwins what is your Facebook acount

  • i got subs kid jeez! haha no need for that reminder at :30

  • whenever i open the project the massive patches reset to the default and i have to reapply them. any ideas on how i could stop this happening?

  • @brycegil123 Yeah.. the problem is that you have a demo version like me, that limits the options to just opening.. You need a full version to be able to save :)

  • when i am in massive and i change filter 1 to daft, it doesnt let me play anything

  • @MrsBurdman Raise your cutoff knob. You're cutting all the sounds out. ^E

  • Comment removed

  • How did you change the octave you play when you press the keys?

  • @xMUKxm z and x

  • Comment removed

  • u guys are doing a wonderful job of explaining!!!!! best tutorial series i've ever seen. Keep up the great work!!!!

  • THE PART 6 ANNOTATION DOESN'T WORK :(

  • yes great videos, but i dont have massive so i was wondering if the operator will work good for the next part, and when will there be "the next part"?

  • Hey, so im getting paid next friday, should i pick up a good set of speakers or Headphones? My budget will be around 150 to 300

  • @SCChickenfoo It really depends on your situation. What would you be using them for?

  • @GAWproductions I would mostly be using them to listen to music, i was thinking of the Senhisser HD555

  • @SCChickenfoo Very decent headphones. If you're not concerned with making a lot of noise, then I'd go for speakers, because it just makes everything feel more epic as long as you have a good subwoofer. But if you not allowed to make a lot of noise for some reason than I'd go for the headphones because you get to blast it as loud as you want, but don't have to disturb anyone. There's my two cents.

  • @TornadoTwins could u make this for audio in power point

  • Just a question: you'll tell us when we have to restart following along right? I've just listened and took notes here

  • D:

  • You definately need headphones haha! I'm not making that mistake again!

  • i got a slight problem. at 5:30 when i hit play i don't have the bass like noise coming out, i have nothing. Why is that?

  • @MDKmediaDesign if you're on windows you might need to change octave (you can do that with the 'z' key) and play noted with 'asdf' keys until it sounds like the video

  • Great pace to these videos... Question... You appear to be putting notes in random but as all the different sounds appear to be in key with each other then presumably you have a certain key in mind when you are writing these midi clips?

  • @abletondummy10 Good point. None of the notes are random, I purposely pick them precisely. Mostly in the key of E / D. Although I have to admit I do it by ear and I don't really know how to explain that... ^Efraim

  • Say "gritty" 5 times really quick. Excellent tutorial. Thank you!

  • When you explained wave forms, I understood why my neighbors were so bloody annoying XD

  • @smay96 True. Bass sounds travel way further (through walls, etc) than high-tones. That's why bass rules. ^E

  • @TornadoTwins Bass does rule! (except when your neighbors love playing Jamaican music on full blast)

  • @TornadoTwins Please help me, every time I drag the operator over it shows a crossed circle and won't let me use it.

  • @TornadoTwins HELP! Do i have to have operator to use massive in ableton?!?

  • waiting for next video :P, there are helping a lot... even if u use another program :P

  • @AixProd That's really cool to hear. The concepts of sound-theory are the same, and using external instruments like the Massive you *should* be able to follow along perfectly with other software. ^Efraim

  • @AixProd You using Fl Studio? I am.

  • @jiddabug21 Yea, im using it... but i will try the trial of this one!
