  • why arent there many changes in the box shapes?

  • I'm not sure.

  • Pretty nice creature

  • There it is... the infamous bouncing bunch of blocks. It certainly looks better in this video than on my computer.

I didn't realized the evolution progression was so chaotic. Do you think it's because the population size was too small during the simulation?

  • I don't recall what the population size was for this one was (was it 50 or so?). Actually, I like the small populations *because* of the chaotic changes :). It keeps things interesting. There are downsides too, of course.

  • How do you do the evolution sequence animation?

  • I gather up all the creature_00000.creature files from each generation (with a batch file) and put them in the "bin" folder, renamed to "gen00000.creature" through "genNNNNN.creature". Then I change a special setting in my constants.txt file to NNNNN. Then I load the final creature, position the camera, and hit a hotkey that causes it to load each "gen" file in sequence and take a snapshot. You need a special version of 3DVCE to do it, but I'll share if you like.

    I would Like it allot!

    ^O^

I tried to do it manually one time and it took a very long time, I think I still have the footage of it online.

  • No problem. I'll PM you :)
