Tues, 21 Dec 2010: "Fist of Fury" also known "Chinese Connection" is my all time favorite of Master Bruce Lee's movies because it shows the soft and hard sides of him. He has a girlfriend in this one, the pretty Nora Miao. I love the song a lot and I had never heard the music put to words until Mike Remedios did it. Mike, you did a great job. In the year 1975, I met Linda, Brandon and Shannon in Denver at a tournement. I still have the photos.
It's funny, when I forst heard this song, I thought it was a Black guy singing! Anywho, this is a great song & the singer is awesome! Thanks for sharing this with us.
@Yangtze331 I have this track on cd if you want a copy. Its very hard to find on cd. I have all bruce lee tracks on cd. If you pick 15 tracks from bruce lee's movies, I will put them on cd for you and post them to you. I will only charge you for postage and blank cd costs. about £4.00 should cover it
Arigato! I like the Western gun-slinging theme, like a spaghetti western. I use hands...no more hands...(the hero becomes a martyr). This is an exhilirating song and so inspirational, yet melancholy at the same time...(the way a lot of thihgs are in Life--such as feelings of love for someone. "i did right the wrong" (just like "turning stumbling blocks into stepping stones"--Bruce Lee).
the original theme version had no lyrics, only chorus in the background. this revitalizes the theme song giving a meaning to the film. it also reflects on bruce lee's character.
By the way, any big Stephen Chow fans here might note the first few notes of this song are incredibly similar to what the Turkey character sings to Stephen in "God of Cookery" after the big showdown with the rival gang. It's the part where she is explaining to him the value of friendship.
Gotta love YouTube. Nothing you can't find. Anyway, I love the sound of this song and its heady 60s "smokey bar" sound. Thanks for putting it up here.
He does actually. But remixed versions I think. It was done during his trip to Japan for the Bruce Lee Fan club. I'm not sure if it's still for sale. And Mike only did the soundtracks for 3 of the movies.
Michael's last name is in English because he is part Portugese. I am glad to hear that everyone enjoyed his performance as he is a great singer. To western fans he'll be known as the Bruce Lee soundtrack singer. But to older generations, he was one of the first people to sing R&B music in Hong Kong during the 60s. Ok, i'm very biased, 'cause he's my uncle. But seriously, he's an amazing singer, entertainer and performer... :) I'll gladly answer more questions if you have any. :)
Unfortunately, he does not have anything official. I had to buy a bootlegged copy of his music in HK. All the songs sounds great 'cept for the first song "send her back" which I understand is one of his biggest hits. I could try to upload it to bitlord or limewire or if you like I can make a copy and send it to you. just give me some time. Once again, thanks for your support. He may be semi retired, but he's still around and does showes from time to time.
I actually had the opportunit to meet Mike and his band, the Mystics in Macau in 2007. I grew up in the 'bank flats' but not from his generation, and i can tell you that his music is awesome.
I was in HK that day but could not take part in the celebration. Thank for your continued support and appreciation towards his music. I'm blessed because I've gotten to hear him sing all my life.
