Acoustic takes more skill to play than electric, no effects like distortion to hide your sloppy playing.Sure electric has it's bonuses it's easier to play,the strings don't rip your fingers to shreds,and barre chords are easier to play due to the smaller guage strings.I'm getting a 7 string guitar cause use to playing thicker strings.

So yes in a way your right and wrong. He is playing the song with a accustic song if u play it with a little distortion u can tell they are nearly the same.
