Great story and proof that not all junkies are the write-offs of society. Its a matter of education and making sure that no matter who it is, your son, daughter, mom, dad, cousin, aunt, uncle, nephew or niece - NEVER take that first 'experimental' hit of Meth or Crack, NEVER. Death or prison awaits you. People like David Parnell are the 1% exceptions to the rule. Don't take a chance and ruin your life.
People are a little overboard with their promotion of weed. It can have it's problems as well. One of them becomes getting and keeping a well paying job as you soon find out that 85% of all employers do drug screening. Of course you can substitute your sample, but then hope that you're never suspected of using. If you're already saying "just smoke weed, kids" on a meth video, obviously you have a big mouth.

There is no correlation between marijuana and schizophrenia, and the correlation between marijuana and depression does not imply causation. Marijuana is euphorogenic, it cheers people up, which makes it very appealing to people who are depressed, as it would take the edge off of their symptoms. People smoke because they're depressed, not the other way around.
It's unfortunate that he got to this point, however I'm so happy he was allowed and made good use of an opportunity for a second chance. :) Very touching.

I'm glad he turned his life around but at 21 months he is still far from safe. There is a very low long term recovery rate for alcoholics and addicts. I wish him well.

David has been clean for 6 years now. He is still speaking every chance he gets and trying to warn other people about the dangers of meth.

the word "hero" may not be the best way to describe him but an amazing story is. yeah this guy fucked up (big time) but he got his second chance and hes runnin with it. hes doin the right thing by going out and telling his story. sometimes it takes someone thats been though shit thats changed their life to really make an impact on younger ppl. this is truly an amazing story and hes definitely doing the right thing by showing what actually happens when you fuck with drugs

I'm glad he turned his life around but at 21 months he is still far from safe. There is a very low long term recovery rate for alcoholics and addicts. I wish him well.
It's great that he is trying to get the message to the kids, hopefully they can learn from his painful experience.

David has been clean for 6 years now. He is still speaking every chance he gets and trying to warn other people about the dangers of meth.

weed can give you emphazima (or however its spelt :P) and many cancers (even though the average person disagrees). and because its natural doesnt mean its safe (as opium, heroine, and coke can be called natural aswell). but on the other side, i smoke :P. and it cant be compared to the other drugs, and drinking is worse I think.
