Well, just incase you care and wish to reply back, I just wanted to say they possibly named the game 'Bioshock' as opposed to 'Rapture' because 'Rapture', although the setting in which the game takes place, is just the place!

'Bioshock' on the other hand, slightly explains your 'bio' (meaning life) 'shock'ing abilities! Your human bio-ness has been changed! Woot!

Actually, the long answer is that the name "Bioshock" was an homage to its predecessor in the 2K(previously Irrational) series: System Shock (1&2), which was very similar in content and gameplay. It's more of a cult hit, clearly came and went without much fanfare, and it seems like the designers wanted to give a sort of shout-out to the grandpappy of Rapture. I guess in the end they could have called "Thanks-For-Not-Buying-Our-Pre­vious-Games,Lemmings" and I still would love it.
