I have a little chart that i had until i was 5 and then we sorta forgot about it. This year i asked for it back because i missed my dora dvds. So, everyday if i'm a good little girl get a gold star on my calender. If i have 5 gold stars in a straight row mommy texts daddy to tell him and he brings home some musc cd or dvd or something that he'll think i like. It's fun<3 This week he bought me a really cool music themed notebook which he wrote "nanowrimo" on in mini gold star stickers. haha. <3

When I was younger, I was really rude to everyone (I've grown up a bit since then) and my parents decided that they would give me a 'polite chart' and everytime I was polite they would give me a sticker. I found this incredibly infuriating and ended up ripping it up. It did no help for my manners at all xD

When I was in 2nd grade, my teacher gave us all gold stars if we behaved well that day. I remember the first day I didn't get a gold star: One of my classmates had chased me around the classroom with a pair of scissors. I, being seven years old, screamed and ran away. When my teacher told us that we didn't get gold stars that day, I burst into tears, because I was so convinced that it wasn't fair and that it was so not my fault! It amuses me to think about it now. :)

We didn't get gold stars at my school. When I was in middle school (maybe elementary school for people who live in America?) , we had merits, and if we had like 20 merits, we gt a certificate. In high school, we got PRIDE points, and i we got a certain amount, we got a letter home. We only had gold stars in First and Primary school. I loved them

Don't listen to her. Eco bags will not get you a gold star, they would more likely get you as very angry cashier. The eco bags are a waste of money as most people who use them buy plastic bin liners instead of using your plastic bags from the supermarket. They are also damn hard to fill and really freaking annoying.

wow .. a real trip in the memory bank. I remember when I was in elementary gold stars came in a small box and required licking to make them stick. As a child I always thought they were quite cool and then came the wonder of actually finding a box of them in a stationary store - purchasing them if you weren' a teacher seemed wrong - I think I only bought green or blue ones - never the gold ones. They have to be earned. Thanks for the memory!

When I was in primary school, there was a play on and when you did good things you got warm fuzzys and when you did bad things you got cold prickleys, and the play was about how they made you feel and stuff like that. I think its kind of similar with the gold stars, they give you a warm fuzzy feeling when you get them.

I never did the gold star thing, in my elementary we did scratch and sniff stickers and stamps on an index card. If we had 10 or more we got to chose something from the 'prize table', which was usually a pencil or candy.

That reminds me of a child's story. I'd love it if anyone remembered it's title. It was about a town of people made from wood by a wood-carver. These wood-people were given circle, square, and star stickers they could place on the other wood people to judge them. One poor wood person always received circles (the worst). But there was a very pretty and nice wood person who always received star stickers, but they would always fall off of her.
