  • RIP Stewart 1 day and it has been 10 years

  • It's Bunny!

  • all time greatest band...stuart...the best!...r.i.p

  • Oh wow I WAS there missed Deacon Blue as I had to get last train home to Ayr great days rip Stuart!

  • LOVE AND MISS U STUART

  • THE DOGS BOLLOX

  • Had a great night and day stuart's legacy will only grow never diminish. The band are still going strong too. So many memories of the day still remember the smells "mostly hash "sight and sounds. The video can't do the event justice but i know that there was a spontaneous eruption of joy as soon as the riff of the big country kicked in .

  • hey baby look no forther

  • What are the titles to both of these acts?

  • RIP stu, always missed!

  • that MC at the beginning looks like my Scottish grandmother in the face - her hair was curlier tho

  • i love the Scottish accent! ;)

  • @herper64 You're not alone. It's just so fucking great. I feel like my American accent sounds so flat and boring compared to anyone Scottish. Oh and absolutely fantastic fucking band here as well. RIP Stuart. You'll never be forgotten.

  • that's cool! ;) yeah, i miss these guys!!

  • I remember this gig - the day before my English and History A Levels and mid-way through Italia 90. Marvellous

  • Best I've seen and I have seen my share in 30 years.

  • Great song, but WHAT the hell did that guy at the beginning say?

  • Agree with you- but who cares?

  • was there absolutely superb memories rush back like a river in spate

  • loved big country! my mom's from glasgow!

  • Tell you waht, they played Knebworth supporting Queen in Aug 1986 and they suprised most of the audience with their ability to actually play, sound good and rock the place......Chance probably never sounded louder, Rememberance Day and I Walk The Hill are a memory of mine.........Memories are made of events like that day.....

  • lucky you

    to have been there!!!

  • we Scot's r cursed. Big heads, small dicks and an incredible drinking problem. I got 2 out of the 3, I'm drinking Glenlivet right now, and wearing a stocking 4 a cap....cheers!

  • And hopefully listening to some great music like...Big Country, Amy MacDonald, Paolo Nutini and all the rest I never heard about!

  • The 2 Tama Octobans drummer Pat Ahern is using here are now my pride and joy. He is a very nice guy having met him and talked about his year with Big country. The swine wouldnt let me have his Artstar 8" snare though.

  • @Nellydrums - What a nice remark to make - I am sure Pat would have appreciated that - no he would never part with any precious kit ! - best wishes Karen (Ahern) x

  • this was the BEST Concert Day ever - They literally shut down Glasgow - Ppl were eating their McDonalds burger sitting in the middle road on sauchiehall street (sorry spelling) - Best bloody day ever... It was beyond Magic :)

  • They didn't perform at live aid. They were only on the finale, mores the pitty............I wonder what they would of played ? I recon the audience participation during Lost Patrol would of gone down well.

  • i was there it was quality and no rain! remember a prozzie comin up to me on st vincent st and i had no idea why she was askin if i had a bank card!thought i had pulled! how nieve i was in those days.quality band quality music!

  • For the Homeless !! Dam I love you boys~

  • This is so cool to see, thanks so much for posting.

  • Big Stu's bday was is on friday. Let's listen loud to big country for him. RIP Stu.

  • yeah...very good ya weegie facks...best band in scotland were from Dunfermline, get it up ya

  • It's reminds me of my high school time 1980's. the best year of my life full of music talented musician, i hate to remember that. whish i had time machine.

  • You know, sometimes I wonder how Big Country's fortunes would have changed had they gotten their chance to perform for Live Aid.

  • English bigots wouldnt let them play, too 'Scottish'.....Proclaimers changed that attitude at home & everywhere else for good...long live my home culture

& everybody elses....dont lets make the world bland(lost cause)

  • they did perform at live aid - the original and the best gig - my husband is the drummer here!!

  • What song did they end up performing at live aid ? I heard they were not invited cause they thgought they had broken up. I know there are interviews out there with stuart at live aid. would love to see the performance though, was is ever recorded ?

  • @marc12marc YT / N3HgPQgDU1c is the live aid interview where SA states his wife was having a baby when they were asked if they could attend.

  • @themixtures eh, they did fuck play live aid

    !

  • @callummcphail - Thought they did - but apparently they were at the finale ? can never remember so much from way back then - life was too hazy throughout the 80's - as Pat played with so many bands back then including Heaven 17, Rick Astley (yuk) ,Ultravox then Big Country - so many gigs, life was a whirl - Karen Ahern

  • great band i loved adomson

  • are these guys still performing? I really like this older live version

  • stuart adamson the lead singer has sadl;y passed on but has left some memorable tunes,,,, god bless him!!

  • The choke wank man lol

  • Americans claiming Scottish heritage piss me off! You're no Scottish you're American!

  • Nobody requires your permission to announce their heritage or their pride in it. Attacking free expression pisses me off.

Becoming American doesn't erase one's personal history, you ignorant doink.

  • I'm a Scot and Scotland is a great nation but there are some things I'm ashamed of over there. Bigotry and racism are alive and well in Scotland. Your comment reminds me of that.

  • i used to love listening to Big Country when i was younger , its a sad thing hes passed away. and a sadder thing that people cant be proud of their ancestral roots.

most people in my country claim scottish heritage. its something you should be proud of.

  • Its Wullie fae City Lights!

  • I am so proud o be a an American-Scot, and I love BIG COUNTRY.

  • was in that audience somewhere and they were brilliant ...would like to find the rest of this concert "the big day " if i remember right

  • the last 2 posts are so spot on.....nothing more 2 say..........yet

  • The VOICE! Life is hard indeed; especially when you have a purpose to show us all as it seems Stuart did. I hurt for the man who couldn't live his life as God intended. I miss him greatly. See you Stuart in the WT.

  • I miss Stuart a lot too. I miss him wandering around at the football.

  • I watch Big Country live 10 time, they were amazing live one of the best. And one of the most underated bands of all time. It was a sad day stuart died and it pissed me of his death was ignored in the press and on tv. That day a legend died.

  • Yeah, he shouldn't of been put to one sided

  • Such a big response for an album track at a fest, Lost patrol...awsome!!!i remember watchin most of the day on tv and im sure Big country got the best cheers n stuff from the crowd.

  • amazing band true talnet

  • fantastic band, wonderful music. I was lucky enough to see them live in the october afore he died. Miss him like hell. May he rest in peace

  • this is not wembley stadium - but glasgow green with over 100,000 there. a great day and what a superb live band. Stuart Adamson - LEGEND. Stay Alive

  • Sound/picture quality not very good.

  • Stuart man..the guy is a f'king legend. The band never had the level of fame they SO deserved. Near on faultless live and music that will allign the planets, bring about world peace and end poverty. Plus, its exellent to dance to.

  • Anyone know the film that big country did the soundtrack for?

  • Restless Natives. There is a clip here at Youtube. And it's possible to order the video from Amazon co uk

  • I can not get enough of this version of Lost Patrol

  • I love Big Country... my favourite band :D Rest in peace Stuart

  • woo! :) go big country

  • REST IN PEACE STUART

  • Excellent "Jock Rock" the best band of the 80s,better than all the other crap around at the time.

  • This was filmed at glasgow green the concert was free and there was 250000 aprox there i was one of them and it still sends shivers along my back when i see it what a day what a band thanks for posting

  • All round to Tappies, the drinks are on me!!

  • How we miss this! Brilliant. Thanks to all BC fans for letting the music 'stay alive'. Happy 25th anniversary to Bruce, Mark, Tony ans Stuart - God bless you..

  • Wonderful version of Lost Patrol Thanks mate!

  • We wuz robbed of him.

  • stuart adamson, one of the most underated musicians of his generation.seen big country live, outstanding!

  • This is one yank who couldn't get enough BC. No Scottish blood runnin' through me, must be the Irish in me soul. Cheers to all my Scottish brothers across the pond. You know how to have fun. God Bless you Stuart. Not to forget Bruce, Tony and Mark.

  • this is NOT wembley stadium.

    Not any stadium at all.

    BC still rules though

  • Scotland you were blessed to have such a great man as in Stuart Adamson. I know he was born in Manchester but a true Scot thro and thro. Be very proud of the big man. Sadly Missed Stu. "Why did you have to do this ?"

  • Like this? Get the DVD's. Without The Aid of a Safety Net and Live in Berlin are fucking ace.

  • What a performance. This was the "Big Day" gig. The version of Lost Patrol was the best I've ever seen.

R.I.P Stuart. You are so missed.

  • If anyone could grow flowers in the desert it would be Stuart Adamson.

  • Oh, I should point out that this was a free gig, hence the massive attendance (it felt like half of Glasgow was there), although it must be said that there was a hell of a lot of schemies/neds there drinking buckfast! I think Goodbye Mr MacKenzie played before BC and there is footage of them elsewhere on youtube....

  • Strick yer Who Mackenzie? remarks to yourself and tell us how good BC were!!

  • schemies/neds?

  • stewpot is fucking loving this. there have been few places in life better to be than lost in the middle of a bc crowd. peace in our time

  • Thanks for posting this mate. I dont think thats Mark Brezicki on drums, does any one know?

  • That Would be Pat Ahern(ex Ultravox, Rick Astley etc) On Drums I notice he crops up quite a lot on the "rarieties" cds. any one know what he's doing now?

  • His name was Pat Ahern. Played with Rick Astley, Ultravox, Dave Howard Singers, Taylor Dane, Frank Tovey and the Pyros and Big Country.

  • Marc take a bow

    fantastic,never seen this before.

    stay alive!

  • Thank you so much for this video marc12marc. Amazing. Reminds me of when I was brought up in Greenock.

  • Thanks for posting that. I think BC is the greatest guitar band of all time. So underappreciated in the U.S. What a shame.

  • Brilliant

  • 200.000??? anyway thanks for posting!!!

  • Shame the dicks cut the start of the first song

  • My god, what good band on scene !!!

  • Hi Marc, this is actually Glasgow Green, not Wembley Stadium, I was at this gig (travelled through from Edinburgh) and I'm somewhere in the crowd of approx. 200,000 giving it laldy to Lost Patrol!!! cheers, Michael
