i don't get how Daphne never got the hint that Niles liked her. It seemed so obvious and yet as the series went on it was almost as if she was kinda flirting too. hmmm.
I really cant think of a better showon tv history. yes, many great comedies, but nothing compares to this brilliant brilliant show. everything about it is genious!
You know, what I really loved about this show was how *everything* about it was good. Some shows you like because of one really good plotline, or one really good relationship, or because one or two characters are really funny, or something. Not so with this show. Niles and Daphne were a wonderful love story and romance, but they didn't overshadow any of the other characters, or any of the relationships between the five mains. They just fit into all of the show's myriad awesome element perfectly.
I miss this show sooo much. I think it's mainly just because of these two. I'm a sucker for secret crushes on sitcoms. TBH their relationship is the only one I actually liked when they got together. If this was another show I'd be quite mad because it ruins the show. Also because there's not that awkward yet exciting anticipation of what's going to happen between the two next. It makes for good tv IMO
Think that's bad. I fell in love with Daphne the more I watch this show. I love her strong character, her accent, her laugh and her beauty. Who wouldn't fall in love with Daphne?
I liked the show, whenever it would come on I would watch little bits and pieces and it was funny. But when I actually watched a few full episodes and learned about Niles crush I became a HUGE fan! I loved those 2 ...
I didn't know jane leeves had such a strong accent...i thought i was part of her acting...is she really talking like this?
anyway , i thing n&d "relationship" was important for the series, because it was the connection between the episodes...without them I would have watched it, but i wouldn't have gotten "addicted"...the character Frasier is funny, but i don't believe so many people kept watching only because of his storylines...
Her normal accent heard here when speaking is very distant from what I know as a Mancurian accent. Her acting accent is quite a strong Mancurian. it may be that she lived on the outskirts of Manchester and had a middle class back ground. This would explain her 'soft' natural accent and not easily recognised as Mancurian. So she used the accent that most people in the UK would know as Manchester. Check wiki. The actor who plays Dad is from the same region but lived in USA from a child.
@dhom100 I totally agree. I like this show a lot, but loved the moments with them. It was even better because of his attraction and their relationship.
which episode is the one with the cigar?

Am I the only one who is head over heels in love with Daphne?
If Niles weren't so damn awesome, I would have been quite envious.

These two would actually go really well together in real life, if it weren't for she already being married and he being gay lol.
LUDWIGPARIS 2 years ago 37
Man, that's such a bummer that he's gay...his character was so loveable.
PurpleCowz48 2 years ago 9
well, him being gay doesn't make DHP any less loveable...just unattainable to any woman who would be lucky enough to get him if he weren't ;-)
raerae1281 2 years ago 14
@raerae1281 And unattainable to guys, too, since he married his partner of nearly 30 years in 2008.

LOL I love the way Frasier says that.

I like where Niles is so taken back by "smack on the fanny" he can't even talk. He stands there looking like a goldfish

I had no idea but David Hyde Pierce is actually gay in real life. Kinda adds something to his portrayal I think. He's brilliant
