Amras,there is no way the Cherokee would get near the VVTIL.I have one,lowered,big bore,bodykit,etc.When the VVTIL enters 6500rpm the cam opens another 20kw and would blow the Cherokee away.The 6spd gearbox is awesome.The Lotus Elise use the same engine.
Yes, because your 'lowered bodykit' adds horsepower. Your 'big bore' might add 2hp if you're lucky. These engines are highly tuned from the factry, good luck getting any decent gain without forced induction.

fuck celicas i just got rid of mine cuz everything was breaking i dumped so much money into it and i blew the transmission now i have a v8 awd jeep and it smokes celicas even a turbo celica i found. they are not meant for racing AT ALL it's a damn carolla motor. but the new celicas lol i their gonna have the boxer motor..
Urs mustve had an older one, that model in the clip (ZZT231R) has a Yamaha racing engine in it that Lotus use for the Elise, my dads friend works at a toyota dealer and has never seen any major problems with that model and my ZZT231R Celica runs like clockwork
the vttl-i(2zz motor) is made by yamaha.its the same thing.And to MRKH202.I got a trubo celica.Running high 9's on the 1/4 mile.I dont think your v8 jeep can beat me unless you go offroad.
And just FYI.After all my mods i still have not had any problems with the motor or anything soo you probley just never changed your oil.And if thats the case dont expect your jeep to last you over 10,000 miles b4 extreme engine problems cuase jeeps are crappy cars,just like dodge.

Actually, my stock Cherokee will do 0-60 in about 8 seconds. Not that much slower than the celica alltrac (about 1.2 seconds). Considering it makes less power and weighs more, doesn't sound too good for the Celica. Besides, the guy you're talking to could have a niner or an srt8. The srt8 would completely destroy any celica. Also, the guy was talking about the last gen celica. Even the gt-s barely broke into the 7's on 0-60.
Glad you at least know what a GT4 is. And just like you reply'd to me comment I made using the term "jeep" with facts about the SRT-8 I'll remind you that he said "Celicas are not AWD" so the fact that he was talking about 7th gens is null as well.
Yeah - The 7th gens were disapointing to us older Celica guys too but it did sell well to the kids for the first few years of it's run.

I meant stock for stock, I was just running out of space. In my opinion, the seventh gen Celica only sold well because, like this ad points out, it 'looks' fast. It looks good, but the weight and lack of power just killed it. I won't lie, I like the look of them but I'd rather have something that's more go than show.
2ZZ and 1ZZ are problematic motors when raced - random misfires have killed several of my friends motors and they know how to tune a zz motor. We need a new version of the 3S-GTE - that was a dependable powerful Toyota Celica motor.
Good news. New Celica is being developed with Subaru and Toyota as partner, new model will have the STI engine and be 4 wheel drive. Still a few years till it comes out but the preparations already started !
it was and still is the most powerfull engine out of any engine smaller then a 2.0 and still has more horsepower then lots of 2.4's you obiously dont know much about the celicas and the 2zzge motor
