Actually, Gore is in favor of a Carbon TAX, where revenues would go towards renewable energy.
In fact, Gore spoke @ the Miami Book Fair 11/15/09, he pointed out that drilling for Therrmo energy in most of the USA could be accomplished with the current oil drilling tech.
I'm tired of the Bush Tax cuts for Oil, the federal grants for (Cheney's) Halliburton for Nuclear Energy research, and, at the same time, the cry to stop any funding for Renewables.
Obama is becoming a tyrant! He wants to censor this because it does not agree with his ideology. Ideology first, American Citizens be damned. Socialists censor because the truth is only what they decree it to be.
Indeed, France DOES recycle Nuclear Fuel, but it is far from ideal. France was an early adopter of Nuclear energy and now nearly 80% of their generated electricity is Nuclear. So, it is no surprise why they chose this recycling 'Solution' but it's more like a hamster wheel.
This was covered by CBS: The waste from recycling Nuclear Fuel is FAR more dangerous than our 'store-it-at-the-plant' fuel. It is dumped MILES underground where it hopefully does not vent, nor come near groundwater.
i thought obama was on the side the right to fresh air, water for americans.obviously the army engineers are not, they keep letting coal companies just pollute,do what they feel while they had behind words instead of that orange water filled with mercury going by there feet..big duh,and the EPA stands behind the engineers and the whitehouse stands behind the EPA..all this while there is a water shortage looming worldwide.coal mining is out of date period, its the horse and buggy of the energy age
A lot of what the Cap and Trade is about is a new property right or new form of property. There are some questions why firms like Goldman Sach are so involved with the creation of them except for the income that can be generated from trading of them on the stock market. There are questions about whether their spokes people promoting carbon reductions are selling it for this reason and not environmental protection. Like it or not, Gore's is connected with Occidental Petroleum. :-(
I'm off point here because what they are talking about is that what the Cap and Trade does is move the air pollution around rather than actually bringing down or the CO2 levels down. The next feature is that is is a new money thing for Wall Street.
Like it or not, that is only 6 year away and not 50 as far as the oil connection. He wasn't born in a vacuum. It would be nicer if those leading this weren't from the oil industry! Have you you ever read C. Wright Mills?
I have never liked CapnTrade, it meant more money being moved around. If you burn coal, natural gas or if you use Nuclear fuel, someone has to get it out of the ground, transport it, etc. For nuclear fuel, there is an additional, very expensive refinement process which, ironically, uses a great deal of power. But what do they care? The taxpayer pays that.
Our current energy policy is PROFIT.
Renewables do not make money for a chain of stocklholders, they just make energy for you and me.
Nuclear power is the very cheapest way to produce energy. Wind and solar are extremely expensive and must be backed up by natural gas or some other means.
Profit is a good thing. It creates jobs and drives innovation. Profit made America great.
The United States was founded as a Republic, i.e. a nation without a monarch, nor a religious leader. A Republic is also a government of elected officials, of, by and for the people, and corporations are NOT mentioned in the Constitution. It is THIS policy that lifted this nation from yet another same 'ol same 'ol to a nation where the good ideas came from anyone, and THAT is where innovation comes from.
Tesla, Bell, Edison Ford and others were unknown before their inventions.
Corporations exist for profit, and they hedge risk. Dick Cheney and Haliburton feeding soldiers for $30 instead of $12 is a glaring example of a sc-*bag using his connections to enrich his company, his stock holdings, and use the taxpayers to build, or guarantee, or outright FUND the profit that a company makes.
Police, Fire, Air Traffic control... All Government, all operating, deliberately, at a loss and for LESS money than a company running those same entities while extracting a PROFIT
You really are a retarded shitbag. Have you ever gotten a job from a poor man? What about a job from a benefactor? Perhaps your only employment came from the government.
You are a worthless stain on society. A perpetual drain. Bottom dwelling pond scum that blames his failures on "big corporations".
Well said bubba, this douchbag just wants a handout, he is too busy bitching and complaining to ever be successful.
Hey assfucker, you ever look into what solar and wind energy cost when to try to scale them up to meet the demands if coal was to be replaced? Solar and wind are only a solution if you combine them with nuclear power.
Nuclear energy is the safest and cleanest energy available, you dumbass hippies watched too many Simpsons episodes.
But surely, Bubba, it must be easy for you to check your own assertions. I should think you would want to know if people were exploiting you for fun and profit.
I AM pro-business, I am pro-INDIVIDUAL.
I know that Sean Hannity and others have made you feel that *I* am your enemy. Does he know you steal his material?
Divide and conquer. That is their plan.
I AM suspicious of Non-elected bureaucrats between me and my doctor (Insurance companies).
It wasn't "gov't censorship". The EPA merely objected to the references to the EPA itself, which could give the impression (even though there was a disclaimer) that they were speaking on behalf of the EPA.
If you object to censorship, then look into what the EPA did to Dr. Alan Carlin, a scientist who used to support theories on man-made global warming, but after writing a report poking holes in it, was muzzled, because it didn't support the Obama administration's policies on cap and trade.
Bravo, bravo Laurie Williams & Allan Zabel for your courageous stance and
for blowing the whistle. Even if I don’t agree with your position that nuclear & CCS should be part of the solution to tackle Climate Change

Cap 'n Trade means Al Gore can become a $Billionaire trading in carbon credits.
He founded Generation Investment Management in 2004, then set about convincing the world to buy into his scam.
He is one of the most successful hucksters in human history, and if the Copenhagen climate change treaty is signed, he will become a $Billionaire.

At Mr. Gore's request, all of his father's stock in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum was sold almost six years ago as the estate was closed.
There is no further connection.
Google it before you spread rumors like this.

May I suggest a book, superfreakonomics recently came out and has an interesting take on global warming. I found it to be non-partisan.
