i have done the east west trip by road rail ship and car one day I may even fly lol but train is the best so far i am close to 20 trip on the indian pacific and never get sick of it'
WOW. The Australian southern outback, the Nullarbor and all through that part of Australia from east to west. I've had a share of it since 1964 and there is nothing else in the Australia that I've been able to see so far that can compare with it's raw beauty. Love it, love it, love it !
@DieselSmoke92 Tat's only one class of locomotive. Australian railways all used to be government owned, and each state had their own ideas about how to run them, and what to put on the rails. These locomotives are the backbone of what's known as the Indian Pacific line
How did you manage to score a cab ride like that? We used to get cab rides in the early '80s when we put our trucks on the train from Kalgoorlie to Pt Augusta but I thought they would have put a stop to that by now. Great video. I didn't realise how high those double stacks were until I saw that.
An interesting clip from places rarely seen by the general populace. Berloody hard to get in by road unless you get permission to use the access road.
Great video ...... I just don't really know why so many now call them freight trains, I have always and will always call them goods trains thats the Aussie lingo, freight is American. Thanks for sharing and look forward to watching a lot more videos from you.
@TrainSpotterX I reckon freight train sounds better than goods train, that's my opinion anyway. I think most people call them freight trains in Australia now. Sometimes the Yanks have got a better feel for the lingo. I reckon the way the Yanks call them an "Engineer" sounds better than "Train Driver" as well. What do you think?

I assume the passenger car behind the engines is for carrying relief crews so the train can keep moving?

Where exactly are the spots you have filmed ? If you could provide locations to match times in video would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Null arbor: no trees. But I think I see a tree back there. What's up with that? Great shots of the trains.
