How did the bike not stomp an STi? I drive an 07 Sti, Cobb Accessport Stage II, and guaranteed if I went up against a bike bigger than 250cc's I would get destroyed. This STi doesn't sound too fast either. Probably Stage II, no EWG so the turbo obviously isn't huge. VF34 or stock turbo.
well yeah, it could be a sleeper sti..lots of guys in my club have sleepers. But, they still usually have to run an EWG, and upgrade to an FMIC for 16G+ sized turbos.

The STi was fast, I'll give it that. I highly doubt it was a sleeper STi though. Most STi drivers who go for the sleeper look put on a Cobb Exhaust to hide the roar, and take the wing off and go wingless.
STi's aren't meant to be super fast in drags though. Their rally cars. Although, I've never rallyed in my STi.
Yeah that's why I was disappointed in the bike. My R6 I was able to get into the mid 10s, and that was a newer GSXR so it would be faster.
STIs were first and foremost to be rally, you're right about that, but you can't help to admit the AWD definitely helps in the drags when getting them out of the hole. I almost bought an STI but I found my Mazdaspeed6 for cheaper so I ended up going with that.
I agree 100%. My STi does get me off the line from a dig faster, which is a huge advantage, but against a Bike, I would get dominated by a GSXR with a good driver.
Definitely... unless the car is like an 8-9 second drag car, most any car should get dominated by bikes. Bikes like the CBR929RR and Ninja ZX-10r etc.... those bikes with good riders are capable of breaking into the 9s.
good run from the sti but the bike should have been faster. stock k5 gsxr 600s and 750s run mid-high tens stock. and this bike has a stretched swingarm which should have helped him launch better than stock. with a fairly skilled rider a mid ten should have been easy.

How did the bike not stomp an STi? I drive an 07 Sti, Cobb Accessport Stage II, and guaranteed if I went up against a bike bigger than 250cc's I would get destroyed. This STi doesn't sound too fast either. Probably Stage II, no EWG so the turbo obviously isn't huge. VF34 or stock turbo.
I think the biker just can't drive.

well yeah, it could be a sleeper sti..lots of guys in my club have sleepers. But, they still usually have to run an EWG, and upgrade to an FMIC for 16G+ sized turbos.

We're still talking about a bike right? I find it harder to tell if a bike has bogged it's launched. he could have also mis-shifted... I've had many a friend accidently skip a gear while dragging their bike. Happens to everyone at one time or another. Even happened to me a couple times when I use to have my R6.

Oh ok... I thought you were referring to the bike bogging I find it hard to point out when I watch bikes race, cars are definitely easier to spot bogging, as you said. I have seen GSXRs run faster times though.... so I was some what disappointed with that bike's run. But Kudos of that STI for being so fast. Oh wait I mean "EVO" lol

GSXRs are fast bikes. Nonetheless, he should have been able to run a faster time than that on a bike.
The STi was fast, I'll give it that. I highly doubt it was a sleeper STi though. Most STi drivers who go for the sleeper look put on a Cobb Exhaust to hide the roar, and take the wing off and go wingless.
STi's aren't meant to be super fast in drags though. Their rally cars. Although, I've never rallyed in my STi.

Yeah that's why I was disappointed in the bike. My R6 I was able to get into the mid 10s, and that was a newer GSXR so it would be faster.
STIs were first and foremost to be rally, you're right about that, but you can't help to admit the AWD definitely helps in the drags when getting them out of the hole. I almost bought an STI but I found my Mazdaspeed6 for cheaper so I ended up going with that.

I agree 100%. My STi does get me off the line from a dig faster, which is a huge advantage, but against a Bike, I would get dominated by a GSXR with a good driver.

Definitely... unless the car is like an 8-9 second drag car, most any car should get dominated by bikes. Bikes like the CBR929RR and Ninja ZX-10r etc.... those bikes with good riders are capable of breaking into the 9s.

good run from the sti but the bike should have been faster. stock k5 gsxr 600s and 750s run mid-high tens stock. and this bike has a stretched swingarm which should have helped him launch better than stock. with a fairly skilled rider a mid ten should have been easy.

hmm sti an06+ wrx come with 2.5l engines while evos come with 2.0 plus the transmisson in a subaru sti is stronger than any evo transmission and the sti/wrx can put the same turbo on as any any evo setup so please humor me on how the evo makes more power?
