This is possibly the FIRST time nintendo ever let me down. I mean look at the badass extras and cutscenes. Considering I've never played the beta before I couldn't say its gameplay is better. And of course Mario games werent made for cutscenes and things like that, but its always nice to have them. Especialy a game like this, with all the different boss ghost and their uniqe differerences. And im sure anyone whose played the game becomes interested in everything going on in the mansion

A lot of games look better in their BETA stages than their final stages. The only reason why I think it could be that way is because the console it was made on is far more powerful than the console it's intended to play on, or in the PC's case, able to work on a house-hold unit.

What does BETA mean in gaming? I originally thought it ment what the game was shown like before it was released (A Game In Development), but then I have seen people saying that the BETA Elements are better than the current...

@actionreplayman07 BETA mainly means like a demo. Still being worked on. A BETA ver. of a game is still being worked on, planning what to take our and what to change. If you look at the BETA gameplay, you will notice some changes...no a LOT of changes. BETA just means its still being planned, not fully done. The final is what is done.

Where can I get a beta copy of this game? It does indeed look more intense than the new(er) version. Like the part with the falling chandelier. I remember playing that part, but every time I go back and play the beginning again it isn't there. Could I have been playing a beta version at the time?

@98SonicFan my guess is that was beta cutscenes, however while some of the effects are better the ghost designs are weak and the textures don't hold a candle to the finished product.

@deathcrypt454545 I agree. I was just a little kid when my dad and I would always play this together. The real, final version creeped me out enough. I'm pretty sure this version would have given me nightmares. I loved Luigi's Mansion, though, and I htink if they ever get around to making a sequel for Wii or something, they should include some of the elements from the beta version, as shown in the video.

The DS can't handle a fourth Smash Bros....they might make some kind of spinoff though. Smash Bros. 4 is most likely gonna be on the console that succeeds the Wii. I would love a SMS2 but seeing as Galaxy got a sequel it probably won't happen. It'll probably get a remake (like mario 64) with a few tweeks.

the end when the ghosts are circling him? look at the beta trailers, at the end there is a FREAKY luigi, blank eyes, depressed faced...

this is because

when 24 houres is up, the ghosts circle him and posses him... thus, game over, you get to see luigi in your nightmares.
