  • singer is only 16!!!!

  • Im an American teen and love this song. Also like Northern Soul music we need to go back in time at least for the music part.

  • Great movie!!

  • THE HORROR!

  • EXCELLENT MOVIE

  • Angeline Ball, whoooo.

Sorry, wandered off there for a moment. Anyway, this is good, but not the best song in the film, that's 'Try a little tenderness'. If you want a steaming version of 'Hard to handle', you need Otis (original) or The Black Crowes.

  • @fearlissimo fuck off shes mine lol

  • it´s not in the soundtrack list

  • Every time I play any of the tracks or clips that show up here, I fall in love w/the movie all over again.

I wonder if it's a good thing, or a bad one, that they never made a sequel?

W/ the way it ended, it'd be tough for them to write a credible follow-up story, so it most likely woulda bit. But you never know...

  • i love this movi yeah actualy this song im really love hard to handle he btter from the black crows yeah

  • 16 years old....what an amazing voice.

  • There aren't too may rock and roll movies that are worth seeing this is one and Eddie and the Cruisers is the other one

  • !!!jazz is musical wanking if you want a wank-use that-thing in your hand not ur sax

  • @devilskitchen08 that doesn't make sense. If you want to talk abut masturbation there are videos for that.

  • @gazzamuso its a quote from the film jimmy rabbite says it to dean the sax player because hes playing jazz style instead of soul style have you seen the film check ya facts!

  • andrew strong did this 16 years old

  • Hate to be the bearer of bad news folks (i love this film as much as you guys) but the vocals were actually performed by a chap called Sy Garretty and dubbed in to the film. Sy got absolutely no royalties whatsoever, as when he signed on the dotted line he didnt realise what a HUGE (and well deserved by the the way) success the film would become. That's contracts for you! Quality film though still!

  • @Removeab1emaSS ...so what your saying is that the guy that ran around singing these songs live at different events wasn't in fact Andrew Strong? His name is actually Sy Garretty?.....oooook.

  • @WiseGuy5674 incorrect, Andrew Strong sung all his songs.. He is still touring incidentally.

  • @freqeist ...don't be a tool...I quite obviously know that Strong sang all the songs.

Are you trying to tell me you couldn't recognize my sarcasm to the original post that was in response to another post? Or do you have a vision impairment?

  • @WiseGuy5674 sarcasm doesnt really work in text you fucking dick, now dont comment again just because you got caught out, ok?.

  • @freqeist ..it does when you pay attention, you fucking moron. Now do us all a favor and go fuck yourself, ok?

  • @WiseGuy5674 thick insular American I`m not going anywhere you cunt

  • @freqeist ...Hold on...Did I tell you to go fuck yourself yet?..Let me read above....Yep, sure did. Let me say it with some impact for ya...Go fuck your mother.

  • @Removeab1emaSS live and learn

  • @Removeab1emaSS nope, not sarcastic, back tracking fool.

  • @freqeist What the fuck are you banging on about? I haven't posted anything on here for over a year and all of a sudden i get some random message in my inbox. Fuck me i was fucking around, get over it and get on with your life bloke...

  • 16 years old when he sang this.

    What a BIG voice. Incredible.

    Strong indeed!

  • Oh my God,I have to see this movie again!ASAP!:-)

  • I have been watching the clips for the past hour or so and was thinking EXACTLY the same! I want it on DVD for Crimbo! :)

  • Its the best version an theres only 1.15 seconds of it, theres a version vol 2 album but its no where near as good as this one.

  • I love the scene start from 0:13 when Dean Fay, the saxophonist, is improvising his playing and ignoring the complaint from Joey, the trumpeter.

  • @littlegank "Jazz is musical wanking!!!!!!!!"

  • @littlegank

yeah he's actually doing a jazz riff....does sound out of place for sure :)

  • This movie introduced me to some great songs... ;-)

  • Why isnt this on the soundtrack!? Its AMAZING!! lol

  • That right there is no way better then Otis Reding's version I mean seriously !

  • No better version than Otis Redding's, I have to say.

  • Fair enough...each to their own i guess. Athough this version sound a little Karaoke to me.

  • Man this is easily the best version of this song!!! Wish they had recorded the full version.... LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Hicieron la version completa en "The Commitments Vol.2" el año 1992.

  • I like The Black Crowes version better.

  • Wonderful song of Otis . But this guy performes it much better than the author/

    Many thanks for the post!

  • Amazing! Classic! Thanx for the post! I Watched this film a couple of days ago in the Second Festival of the Irish cinema in Moscow, Russia. Vibes! Alan Parker is God! Pity that Andrew Strong vanished in utter oblivion.

  • Best cover of any song Ive witnessed. Pity we dont get the full version on the film. The signature song was Mustang Sally (even tho Try a Little Tenderness was better) but this is equally as good.

  • Love!!!!

  • My arse the black crowes did the original hard to handle.

Go have a look at Otis Redding.

Hmpf, black crowes, that's just plain offensive.

  • Lol sorry about that, i meant to put even if they didN'T DO the original

  • it was a great film, i have it somewhere on vhs, i really should buy it again on dvd format, since i dont even have a vcr anymore.

Some movies are worth buying twice...this one makes that list.

  • The cool thing was that everybody in the band was FIRST hired for their skills in music, so everybody actually plays (which also shows)...

  • Love this song!

  • possibly best sould ban ever, excellent brass section and andrew had just brilliant soul man voice!
